On the flip side, Inoussa, Widell, Walta and Idah may flop next season and that's many millions down the drain.
I will agree that there's potential there, enough to make me cautiously optimistic, but it could still go either way. That's not a stick to beat Dimi with or reason to praise him either. Football transfers are an inexact science at the best of times.
Few would have predicted Liverpool's struggles this season after their investment last Summer.
They are but on the eye at this time we are in a positive place. All these were bought for the future in the main. They’ve been watched for months in some cases. Not one will lose their price in the transfer market imo. The future is always either / or.

Who knows, I know he has been injured but in my opinion he is not physically strong enough and gets pressured into giving the ball away. Hopefully he will come good but currently I don't think he is worth a place.

Sheehan was manager when we signed all of them so all of them would have been bought for him?
Inoussa strikes me as a player who needs to be playing for a team on the front foot, which wasn't us for the first half of the season. Ironically pretty much the only game under Sheehan were we looked right up for it from the off was against Man City and that was easily Inoussa's best game for us.
Still a lot of potential there for me, but he's going to be of no use if Matos' primary concern is how well his wingers defend and Ronald keeps holding a place down.

I hope Worth doesn’t end up at a Championship club now, he will be direct competition to the targets we have lined up. It’s a shame he didn’t back his last summer up with this one, felt we were on the right track. We don’t have continuity at this club though and haven’t for a long time.

Widell is the one has been tasked with one of the hardest jobs for a inexperienced championship player the linking up of the midfield to the forwards and then of late being moved to the left wing. But as we have seen the role of players under Matos have to be interchangeable in certain areas if not most. He was good when he first arrived showing glimpses and as time has passed has shown more glimpses of what he can add to the team in that very important first stages of games where superiority needs to be established as far as possible ensuring threats can be countered and provided. Still improving.
Galbraith seems to have it all, just a case of building a team around him? Just hope we do not heap too many expectations on him which prove too heavy for him, a team is not just one player. Hope he can establish himself in the preferred role that the club needs him in.
Quite like Stamenic think we haven't seen the best of him, lucky to have Fulton and Briton to learn from .
I thought the Walta we saw against Charlton was a revelation compared to the out of place player we had seen previously.
Burgess has gave us a stable supply to the left hand side which has led to that side of the pitch being the most productive going forward. Do I really want to see him dwelling on the ball too often or coming to the right hand side to defended, Cabango/Darling both have/had issues defending the left hand side better centrehalves have to learn to be able to deal on the wring side one of the reasons left footed player or ambidextrous players are a premium.
Idah has shown of late what we expected of him.
Ward we needed him at the time .
Inoussa still time to develop as a good asset to the team.
Wales, like to know his goal to minutes played ratio, with us although that would be in the League Cup somebody saw something in him.
Santos did a job to a standard.
The test next season is how the quality of the players can be improved to ensure we are among the stronger teams at the higher end of the league
