In cases like this the police can only bring it to court. Which they do every day. The problem are the ever increasing juries with ridiculous views on life and judges who seem to like sentencing sex offenders lightly. |  |

I have argued before that being a juror should be a full time job with specific training in various areas of law. It's not fair to ask people to give up what could be large swathes of their lives to sit in judgement on a case that they might not even understand. This also reduces the likelihood of problems like the Manchester Airport fiasco.
The issues with the Police come from the fact that senior officers these days all seem to be fast track graduates with little but lip service paid to doing the actual job on the ground floor. It's a similar situation in my line of work too. | |

If I need my boiler fixed I don't put my fate in the hands of some guy pulled off the electoral roll to do the job. I'd want someone with experience and knowledge. Why should the outcomes of trials be any different? | |

Partially correct. France does operate juries for serious offences, Italy has what is called a lay jury system mixing legal professionals and citizens. India stopped jury trials in the 70’s stating the people on them didn’t have the intelligence or comprehension to make a proper decision. Based on that I agree for this to be applied to the UK, which is about the same.

Last year was summoned for Jury Service at Swansea Crown Court , so attend by 9am .
Are these selectors having a laugh , navigate into Swansea from the sticks where I am and then find somewhere to park during the rush hour chaos really not worth it .
I do suffer from insomnia too many late night shifts to this day so what would my thinking be without a clear head , anyway got out of it and they have never got back so far .
Bigger problem is the justice system is in meltdown and out of control with a lets give another chance attitude , deep down you are a good person so pretty please not again
Anything to do with nick bursting at the seams so no more to go inside anymore .
