We've operated like that for years. Our ticket prices are way to low for a Championship side. The Man city tickets were literally given away. We need extra revenue streams, which is why Shamrock have been brought in I assume. The fan zone will help to make it a longer day out at the stadium and fans will be paying extra for refreshments etc. It's going to be a long journey, but we are making the first few steps. | | | |

The lad is obviously motivated primarily with money,Stoke have not exactly been challenging at the top.of the Champiosnhip and finsished below us last season.

I completely agree, but we need to bring in quality, experienced players to help develop the youngsters. The Championship is brutal, and unlike Cardiff, we haven’t had the luxury of easing young players in through a lower-pressure league before stepping up. Take Josh Thomas, for example — it was always “next year he’ll be ready,” and now he’s ended up in League Two.
And what about Aimar Govea? Is he still with us? At one point, Juventus were even linked with him. Since we downgraded the Academy conveyor belt that once helped take the Welsh team to a Euros semi-final, we haven’t seen many top-class players come through. It’s a shame — I wish we had the likes of Ben Davies and Joe Allen ready to step up. But with FFP and PSR rules, clubs have become short-sighted. Liam Cullen is probably the best we’ve produced in years.
This needs to change, but for now, we need ready-made players and a few more “Gally”-type characters to keep the club steady and help us challenge higher up the table. The wage budget and league position are usually key — unless, of course, you’re Cardiff. | |

Talking of Shamrock there was a player playing for Cape Verde in the World Cup who plays for Shamrock Rovers . A defender , I think he was a fullback/centre back . He did not look out of place at all and I thought to myself whether this guy could fill a squad place for us .

True re. age but centre backs are a long lived species compared to others. Bags of experience played in the WC and looked the part . I remember Paul McGrath playing . Never trained due to injury just turned up for matches and was m.o.m week after week. | | | |
