Well, your opinion sucks! Your incessant negativity is not appreciated by many here. You know how payments for players in the current transfer market work, that it's not paid in total up front. Yes, Galbraith will be missed, just like Swans missed having O' Brien returning last year. But, quite honestly, that type of player is, imo, easier to replace than a Vip or a Tymon, and to a lesser extent, a Vig.
I think a lot of us are scratching our heads about how some of these players think through their situations. Most of us would agree that a player has every right to seek more money due to having a small window to achieve their dreams. Yes, Stoke most certainly turned EG's head and offered more money. But, we want these mostly impatient young mid-twenties players to believe in our dream of getting to the promised land, the ultimate goal - Premier League football.
If I'm a player with Galbraith's abilities and talent, then I would focus first on who the manager is, and second on the club's ambitions and ability to succeed in the toughest league of all, the Championship. I would negotiate a contract that would pay me extraordinary money if the club gets promoted. It doesn't make sense for a lot of us for EG to go to Stoke based on these points. Maybe EG's age played a major role in his decision to do what he did. | | | |

Or you could look at it another way and think of the players who have signed for Swansea City and who love playing for the club and living in the area so much so that they stay for life.

He will have picked up a nice house in Alderley Edge as part of the deal which is where all the Prem footballers live, he may even have lived in the area whilst at Man Utd so I see the logic in him moving somewhere that perhaps feels like home. No Stoke players will live in Stoke I can assure you, the attraction is Cheshire and being part of the footballing 'elite' in their own community in Alderley Edge and Knutsford.
I do think its good business for us and really pleased its been done now so we can reinvest in the squad, I hope measures have been taken to protect our other key assets as we cant afford to lose Vip, if the owners do have ambitions then he needs to stay no matter what.
Fans need to remember its simply a job to the players and nothing more, I personally wish players wouldn't kiss the badge as its so disengenuous and irritating IMO.
