I might be the outlyer here and say that it doesn't really, other than the loss of a talented player for a period. The position he plays and the job he does we're already quite well stocked in. Fulton, Stamenic and Widell can all comfortably cover the central midfield role.
Where we are lacking, desperately so now, is in the deep midfielder position. Galbraith has to be replaced. Stamenic is too slow on the ball. Fulton is better, but we can't rely on him all season. We need more. |  |

We need a ballwinner in the middle,Widell can do that job but if he gets injured we’re in the cack

Agree with you to a point but we need a ballwinner with more energy to hassle and harry opponents,while Stamenic and Fulton can win a ball ,they’re not as mobile and dynamic as Franco ,who does far more running and closing down than both of them ,which we will need t implement Matos’ tactics | | | |

Quite a few of last years signings from midfield forward have taken time to adapt, although signed earlier you could include Vipotnik in that bracket. This is my main concern regarding signing someone to cover the Franco injury, would they be up.to speed before he returns, you could include loans like Yalcouye in that. |  | | |

Yep.
The Championship is unlike any other league in Europe IMO. The pace of the games, the sheer physical competitiveness, it takes time to adjust, time a lot of players we've signed in recent years haven't really been given.
Now you mention it, it's another good reason why we probably shouldn't be looking to rush out and replace Franco when we've already got players who can do that job and are already up to speed, especially when there's such a glaring vacancy at the base of our midfield already. | |
