When Andy Coleman set up the women's team it was part of the club and required funding.. I was a little concerned that the funding would come from general pot and have an effect on the men's game.
Millwall for example saw their women's team break away and go independent.
We have also seen tensions with both the Spanish and English Women's teams with the Spanish women taking their Board to Court for incidents and a long standing perception ok f them being the "poor relations". Similar problems were seen in the England team with accusations of discrimination..
We in Resolven dodge no issues. It seems that the new Swansea owners have sold their stake in the Women's team and set up a separate limited company. I think this is a very wise move. The Swansea Women's team can now stand on their own feet and develop their sport without reference to the men's game. Issues of under funding a argument over promotion are no longer relevant.

Either way Gorringe is no longer responsible for the women's team which UK a now run by another Limited company. The club I suspect would be keen to have a clean break while keeping the name and stadium rights as with the Ospreys .

What some don't understand Gwyn is the mens team does not "pay its own way" its subsidised by the owners to the tune of £13M a year. The cost of the woman's team does not come out of that as it is excluded for PSR/SCR as is the academy and does not affect the men's finances. If the owners decide to fund the women's team like they fund the mens team its entirely up to them. The new company running the women's team headed by Jenine Cravatt can raise their own capital funding and sponsorship, it will be interesting to see if both team have the same shirts and how much of the sponsorship is paid to the ladies team, as it is now a separate PLC I very much doubt that it will be deductible for SCR. Hopefully the women's team have negotiated their own deal or any money paid to them in any event will not be SCR deductible and could impact the mens team finances where as previously it wouldn't. | | | |

Personally I think the new company (including our owners) will throw money at the ladies team with the long term aim at getting into the English system.They are allowed to do this because currently there is no SCR in women's football. The name of the new company "Her Turn Ventures Ltd" is very poignant in my opinion and has been chosen for a reason. | | | |
