That would seem the case as they have always had far too many police haters .Tories need to step up and be a party that is for law and order .Far too soft on crime. Police do not have crystal balls and can only work with information from the people-that's us. Someone committing crime against your family -snitch all day long.

I've just finished reading Secret Barrister second book 'Fake Law' and he/she's equally scathing of Labour and Conservative policies over the years on 'getting tough'. I won't give any spoilers to the explanations, but basically any politician in recent history grabbing headlines on 'tougher sentences' or 'prosecuting to the full extent of the law' has been peddling snake oil.
| Snitch on your neighbour on 13:51 - Sep 15 with 1544 views | onehunglow | Ive read the first and had to chuck it in the bin as I was getting rather angry.Missus gave me a yellow card for bad language first o it was the best. I have locked horns previously with a poster purporting to be a Barrister and got banned basically for ripping into him as regards the moral dilemma of defending pure evil. It got ugly but I stand by every word. They are ,however, very clever operators who nobody at Court should underestimate. They are trained to ask questions in a certain way . The solicitor on "Des" last night was pretty close to what goes on an police interviews . Anyway, thanks for the exchange but no more from me on this. | |

If you're talking about Sir Johnalot you're talking absolute crap. And he wasn't puporting to be anything. You were harassing a man because you don't like his job. A very decent, informative poster. Shame he's no longer here.

| Snitch on your neighbour on 18:33 - Sep 15 with 1419 views | onehunglow | Cummings and Tories have nothing to do with the public reporting crime . Absolutely nothin at all. In simple parlance,I dont give afeck about the Tories nor who is in government but we either stick with the laws or we have anarchy. Law and order should be the main theme of the Labour party as "working people" are more likely to be targets of criminals and less likely to recover from the loss than richer people. Labour should be flying the flag of justice not giving tacit support to those who ruin ou lives | |

I saw Robert Buckland on the Marr show. asked him directly that if the Uk broke international law would he resign, Marr had to puch him for an answer and Buckland said "If I see the law being broken in a way I find unacceptable of course I will go" That was a shocking reply, firstly because he was obviously giving himself an out but then, shouldn't he find all law breaking unacceptable? How can a government minister on live tv suggest some law breaking is acceptable to him and expect us ordinary plebs to obey the law? But then, the police wouldn't ever accept me saying it's ok, the Lord Chancellor says this is acceptable! Even worse, Buckland is Welsh, from Llanelli.

Absolutely, as Onehunglow has said if we don’t stick to the rules we have anarchy. The judiciary has to be independent of the politicians and the laws have to be applied in a consistent and fair way. I may not like or agree with a particular piece of legislation, but if it’s the law it’s the law. People like the Lord Chancellor should be beyond reproach, it’s completely unacceptable that he’s behaved like he has.

No one should break the law including the government
| Snitch on your neighbour on 08:53 - Sep 16 with 1253 views | felixstowe_jack | The government can change the law as long as parliament votes to change it . Why should a foreign empire the EU decide to put internal borders in the UK. It is the 80 anniversary of the Battle of Britain, just remember the people who gave their lives to keep us a free nation. | |

| Snitch on your neighbour on 08:58 - Sep 16 with 1250 views | onehunglow | Indeed northbank. And ALL of us should offer information of crimes/anti social behaviour because without it the Police cannot do anything. It is not political. Law/Order IS made a political tool though by both main parties. Tories,IMO are utterly inept at it and our justice system is a shambles. As for Labour, they really are not on the playing field. Diane Abbott was shadow Home ec. Think hard about that. We are screwed, friends. Grab your loved ones and protect as best you can. | |

The thing is Labour are not in power. All this is happening on the conservatives watch. And don't forget it was the Tories who took 30k police off the beat Well judge Labour if they ever get to power.
| Snitch on your neighbour on 09:29 - Sep 16 with 1234 views | onehunglow | True enough North but Im not sure how people would react of the Govt had massively increased taxes just to pay for Police. The whole judicial system is our problem. The adversarial theatre of our Courts is at the very core. Police ,frankly, have given up confrontation. It shames them. | |

Got to b hornest, you walk from high st station to st Helens rd. It's full of homeless smack heads doing drug deals. Swansea was not like this 10 yrs ago. All on the Tories watch
