As for Swansea,I haven't been back for almost a year and frankly -sorry to repeat, the city was so depressing I couldnt wait for the weekend to finish. If you take Mumbles and Gower out of the equation, there is nothing there apart from a centre that is worth avoiding at all costs. Successive Swanea councils have seen off any hope and killed anythng of aesthetic value. Whatever else,do not view ,"So you think you know Swansea",a ite which features the Swansea of bygone years .The comparison between then and now is simply coruscating. Spent last week in Norwich and though plenty of drugs/grot there ,the centre is vibrant, clean and a joy to visit. [Post edited 16 Sep 2020 10:48]

In fairness to this Bob Stewart and the council. Things are happening ,new arena being built a lot of investment In the city centre, lots of building work going on. And the kingswa y looks a lot bettet. It was great to see so many young students walking around town Bringing much needed footfall. Swansea is a real students city now with 25k students. It's the biggest employer in the area. But they have to sort these smack heads out and stop the dealers from the big cities coming here

You could even recover that tax by making amanzon,Google Costa Tec pay Their fair share of tax!. Got to b hornest, you walk from high st station to st Helens rd. It's full of homeless smack heads doing drug deals. Swansea was not like this 10 yrs ago. All on the Tories watch |
Fair play, you don't half post some shit. "From High St to St Helens Road full of homeless smack heads doing drug deals!" Yes there are quite a few unfortunate homeless people on high st including a few undesirables. But too say it extends along the Kingsway and St Helens Rd is just a plain lie. Unless of course you believe the hard working Muslim community on St Helens Rd are homeless drug dealers? And for the record, Amazon pays it's taxes in full. You'll be surprised to know that its revenue v profits are worlds apart, instead revenue is invested back into the company for expansion, creating 7,000 permanent UK jobs this year alone. What other UK company can boast that?

On the rare occasions I’ve needed to phone the non emergency line over the last few years it’s just rang and rang for over an hour and no bugger ever picks up.

| Snitch on your neighbour on 10:48 - Sep 17 with 1180 views | Catullus | There were plenty of homeless and smack heads of any variety around in town a lot more than 10 years back. When I was a regular down Wind street, which is around 15 years back now, there were always homeless people begging. Putting it all at the current tories door is just not right, the drugs and homless problem has been here for a lot longer. | |

I haven't been in the town centre for a fair while myself but what I see online looks really promising. Modern and sleek with a real aesthetic appeal, better than the concrete mess Castle gardens became anyway.

Yes things are improving.there plans in to predestined wind st. And to improve castle gardens. Things are starting to come together, then this virus kicked in. Lots of big cities have drug problems. As for the homeless you have to feel sorry for them. This universal credit has made things worse | | | | Login to get fewer ads

No you didn't, i did as you put St Helens rd into your category of 'Homeless smackhead drug dealers.'! When it's simply not true as it's a thriving Muslim community who welcomes everyone. Except of course 'Homeless smackhead drug dealers'!

Spent 5 days there last month, and as you say, a fine city. But everyday I left the hotel I made sure I had a pocketful of pound coins to dish out to the many importunate beggars, alcoholics, drug users, and mentally ill who were everywhere. Plus I came very close to being mugged one night down by the river - I can still see that tw*t's ghastly, sweating, jaundiced face.
