Is this an offensive term to anyone on here out of interest?
Has always been part of the English lexicon as long as I can remember and never deemed so.
Yesterday Twitter denounced it as offensive because Amy Coney Barrett said it and they are desperate to try and slate anything she says or does.
... by the evening, the dictionary had changed its definition.

Governing language is very dangerous, when things are being changed to standards that are not publicly agreed upon.

It’s absolutely appropriate to use the word preference in this context. For example there’s nothing stopping a straight man going out and having sexy times with other men, transsexuals, transvestites or any other gender/group but as a straight man he would prefer women. Lots of gay men have fallen in love with women and had kids but their sexual preference would always be men. |  |

Got to be careful here as kids read this site but it was 1968 and I had a stunning girlfriend;had a car too as I had a well paid job and my family weren't the usual poor people you read so much on here. This girlfriend also had another boyfriend apart from me and rather than punch his lights out we became friends .
Think I'll leave it there as people will get the wrong impressions. | |
