They base their values partly on a players contract, that's how Rashford was rated the worlds most expensive player. It doesn't seem right to me and I don't see how James has more than doubled in value when he has slipped down the rankings at Manyoo.

Of course not. Not only has he struggled in the Premier League, his playing style does not bode well for a long and injury free career. Very few players whose entire game relies on quick, short sprints behind a defence can string 10 games together once their hamstrings have already gone once.

£20 million to low, we ripped United off in my opinion, he'll go for half that when he leaves

no,too low. We seem to be good at ripping people off like Everton with Siggy then seeing the profit disappear. And yes,James could have been sold for far more,as could Rodon.

Of course he is never worth that, but that’s his value. I would say 20 million or less.

Given that players automatically incresase in value one they play 20 games in the Premier league there must be an argument for teams like Swansea to loan their big stars to a PL simply to increase the players value. Take Joe Rodon and Ben Godfrey. Young Ben went for £15m more than Joe as he had had a season in the PL. Aaarons, Lewis all got tested under PL conditions and their progress monitored. All had a PL season on their CV, In this scenario Brandon Cooper Conor Roberts or Matt Grimes would be sent on loan to a partner club in the Premier league to Norwich for example next season to get a seasons experience there by doubling their transfer value. Norwich would send a couple of their more experienced players to Swansea. This could apply once the club finances are stabilised. [Post edited 9 Jan 2021 13:50]

I disagree sorry. We didn't sell too low he's just vastly over priced now. If he was still an EFL player his value may not even be 20 million now. Being in the EPL automatically raises prices beyond any common sense.

With only 12 months on his contract and only a season in the championship that was James true value. After all Leeds could have had for a lot less. The value in these types of list is based on transfer fee, wages age of player and length of contract. Tends to be used to off set the profits the club makes . A four year contract means they can use a player depreciation change of £15,000,000 a season [Post edited 9 Jan 2021 17:17]

| Daniel James on 11:45 - Jan 10 with 371 views | Kilkennyjack | Dan James was good business for Swans. If anyone should feel upset it should be Hull City. He cant fail to improve at Man United, but its a hell of a level to get a starting shirt. Probably not that high level in truth. A real positive for Cymru though. | |

It was Killy but IMO,we could have had more. The huge clubs are fook us over ,as Spurs did with Rodon.I hate it myself. He needs a move and play regularly to maximise his tremendous potential.I like him.
