| New Russian Sponsor Its going all crypto 11:40 - Jan 29 with 778 views | KeithHaynes | European fintech, Mercuryo.io has become the official cryptocurrency sponsor of Wales football club, Swansea City to promote its brand among the lucrative sports fans. The sponsorship deal contract has been signed for the 2020-21 season under which the fintech company gained rights to sponsor the home matches of the football club. Mercuryo will receive many promotional slots, including brand advertisements placed on the club’s official TV channel SwansTV and promotional posts on the club’s social media. The sponsor can additionally place its logo on LED boards around the perimeter of the field during each home match and will get a partnership match, along with several other benefits. Commenting on the sponsorship deal, Mercuryo Co-founder and CBDO, Petr Kozyakov said: “This is our first sponsorship deal with an internationally renowned brand, which is a crucial step for Mercuryo’s international recognition.” Mercuryo was established in 2018 as a cross-border payments network using cryptocurrencies for business. According to the company, its user base grew to over 600,000 users. The sports sponsorship came when the company is expanding its international presence and launched its services in the United States earlier this month. In the last few years, demand for sports sponsorships ballooned as many brokerages inked major deals with sports clubs. Now with the Swansea deal, Mercuryo has jumped into the same wagon. “We are delighted to have Mercuryo as Swansea City’s first official cryptocurrency partner in the 2020-21 season. In a move that connects the fans of two passionate scenes, we are thrilled to work together with our new sponsor in the upcoming months,” Swansea City’s Head of Commercial, Rebecca Edwards-Symmons said.

| New Russian Sponsor Its going all crypto on 12:26 - Jan 29 with 718 views | Badlands | Quite new to the crypto currency game but comes from the technologically savvy and technology world leading Estonia. (I think I saw Russia mentioned - they have trade links with Russia but also with all the Baltic states, over 100 other countries including almost all of the US). Although they are a very small company they have high ambition; they also appear to be efficient self regulators. A friend in Tallinn who travels tells me she has started using their payment system when traveling outside the Eurozone. They could be good or gone in the morning. But some nice words about us being an international name. | |

| New Russian Sponsor Its going all crypto on 12:59 - Jan 29 with 679 views | ReslovenSwan1 | Did you see the wording? " internationally renowned brand", Did anyone tell the Trust? Time they 'maned up' and start thinking about global possibilities for the 21% share. The future is very bright. Not the time for the fatalists of the Trust to scuttle away giving 40% of the holding away to London Posh boys and putting their holding into a 0.15% interest pa current accound with Santander. The club is looking globally and the Trust wants to shrink away. The Trust has big shoes but very small feet. The same size they were in 2002 in fact. Random Trust alerts. I get it. Time they "maned up" you say, what is Aslan up to these days, if we put him up front it would certainly scare the keeper! I'm not sure how I feel about this, a Russian firm, I hope they don't bring us any negative press. Still, it has to be better than having betting companies pastered on our kit, I guess. May eI'm worrying over nothing and it's all good. | |

Swansea city if sucessfull on the grass is only going to get bigger. That means the 21% will get bigger too. The Trust need to ditch the 'fatalist depressives' running it upto now and greet the new world as a 'reputed global brand' . The US poeple were not sold a pup and are not despreate to get out despite the challenges.

Surely some funds should be available to strengthen the squad in light of this groundbreaking global deal?

So you have joined the one line put down merchants? Come on Chief I always engage, you are better than this and give defending the indefensible a good crack normally all beit with some spin and distractions. The "£42M" issue is now well and truly planted in the minds of members who must now consider my point of view. People of low intellect will not consider and naturally follow the majority. They cannot figure things out for themselves. The club is a 'renowned global brand' recognised by international crypotcurrency firms. The world is changing and changing fast. The fans cannot move at the pace of a snail and hope to be sucessful.

What else is there to say that hasn't been said? Repeatedly told you why your beloved fairytale isn't particularly relevant. You say you don't think the trust will win in court anyway, so don't worry about them, they'll be along for this global fun ride. No need to spoil another thread about it.

The haven't got much money ... yet. And crypto economy / wallets /trading is awash with companies who provide infrastructure but unless they become one of the top names are never going to be financially big or stable. Their start op was a couple of million €s drawn mainly from crowd funding. They'll bung us a few thousand for sponsorship but it's unlikely we'll be playing in the Mercuryo Stadium any time soon.

I think that's true of all the new techno-savvy start ups. I think we should have been working on getting sponsorship from Starling Bank ... not well known but ... Starling was founded in 2014 by industry-leading banker Anne Boden, who recognised how technology could transform the way people manage their money and serve customers in a way that traditional banks hadn't. We've since raised £363 million in backing and were voted Best British Bank three years running. Boden was born in Bon-y-maen a suburb of Swansea, the daughter of a steelworker and a department store worker.[1] She was a pupil at Cefn Hengoed Comprehensive and graduated from Swansea University in 1981 with a degree in Chemistry and Computer Sciences. After the financial crisis, Boden sold the house in Swansea where she spent her weekends, in order to raise funds and hire staff at her company. Anyone with connections to Birch?

The US people were sold a pup but they have nurtured it properly, changed it's fortunes and quite possibly saved it from a financial meltdown. If the trust need to move on then maybe you do to?

And there i was thinking the club and the trust should be waking up this global world to become big players on that stage. Turns out it was all just marketing jargon. Never mind.

I have a right as a non trust member to comment on their continual failed strategies. The Trust have caused difficulties for the club and it ownership and not fullfilling the brief properly in my opinion. The US people knew what they were buying and were prepared to take the risk. Inflation will see them comfortably in profit if there is a return to the Premier leage. The 2016 price seriously undervalued the club. The new investor will profit hansomly from his long postion. When the Trust have a progressive and positive strategy I will not question them.
