In a previous life I lived in Tidworth then Warminster and spend many an hour or two visiting that and other monuments ( White horse of Westbury). There was/is an aura about the place and the area in general . Salisbury Plain on a dark cloudless night is a sight to behold and sunrises, &sunsets can be spectacular .

Ok .....what does the name Arthur mean then ?
What does a names meaning have to do with it? The name Arthur was probably chosen because of it's meaning but in itself it doesn't prove Arthue existed.
Jeremy, biblically it means lifetd up or exalted by God, tell Corbyn that. Or david, it means beloved but tell Cameron that. Boris means battle glory....yeah
PS, Courageous, it's easy to be brave when you're a myth.

Well, its a welsh name so thats a pretty strong indication , at that time, that he was - you know - fecking welsh ðŸ´ó §ó ¢ó ·ó ¬ó ³ó ¿ðŸ™ƒ
Even if it was not a single man, it was told as a story about a welsh leader or leaders. And you know what ..... Its a story that was worth telling. Its hugely popular. And it will always be welsh ðŸ´ó §ó ¢ó ·ó ¬ó ³ó ¿
And Caer Myrddin (Merlins Fort) is a Jack Army stronghold in the West of course. ⚪ï¸âš«ï¸

I'm waiting for the ' give us our stones back campaign ' as there's s percentage of the population who seem more concerned about what happened 100s or 1000s of years ago rather than doing something positive in the present day to enable a better future.

Yes but again, King Arthur did not exist, he is of myth and legend and even then he is from thousands of years after these stones were moved. Stonehenge isn't Welsh, it isn't English either because when it was built, moved and rebuilt there were no countries. This thrad isn't about Arthur or Wales, it's about Stonehenge but you can't help twisting things so you can slight the English, can you?

So in your own words, how can me talking bollox about a bloke that you say never existed, be a slight on the English.
Are you feeling ok ?
Your title for this thread reads ‘Stonehenge was originally in Wales’. Your post says ‘Stonehenge isn’t Welsh’.

I know what the title says but what does the first line say?
Arthur didn't exist, most historians agree on this. Do you think he exists? Do you think the English stole him, well the myth and legend anyway?
You say Arthur was Welsh but he wasn't, he was British. The legend is that he defended these islands against the Saxons. The Saxons called the British "Welsh" which means stranger or foreigner, it was meant as a slight. Have a read,

Dear Einstein,
What language did Arthur speak ?
Clue: bear in welsh is ‘Arth’, gold is ‘aur’. So Arthur means ..... oh forget it !
The British as you label them were Welsh. They spoke Cymraeg.
Arthur didn't speak any language because.........he didn't exist!
The version of Cymraeg spoken back then is much different to todays but even so Arthur is supposed to come from the latin name Artorius. In ancient texts Arthur is never even referred to as a King (Rex) but is referred to as Dux which is more along the lines of a commanding officer, a leader of a warband.
What are trying to say by suggesting "Gold bear"?
Lastly, the British aren't Welsh, the Welsh are the true British, we are the original Britons, Welsh (again!) was how the Saxons described us and is pretty much an insult, calling us strangers in our own land.
Gold Bear....maybe you should know that the name Artorius means "Noble strength, a bear" so Arthur is, at least in part, a translation from (Latin to Welsh) Artorius
