Didn't the Bay City Rollers end up with very little money?
I'm sure someone else wrote their songs for them and when that happens a large slice of royalties ends up in the songwriters pockets? I'm sure they had a manager that liked to take a way too generous cut also? Many a group and artist have ended up absolutely skint despite mega sales and top 10 hits.
I read about group (went on strike) XTC who ended up skint cos they signed a most appalling contract with Virgin Records. Private jet travelling mega stars aside i.e. the music industry seems to be ruthless! |  |
