I had wondered if terrorists had found some new weapon but the news report did say these buildings were due for major repair work later this year. It seems they just waited too long though. I wonder if any other buildings there are at risk. 159 lives is a hell of a lesson to learn though.
It does make you wonder about the construction when this building seemed to collapse so quickly, you'd have thought there might have been some warning signs or that they would have been doing regular checks to ensure the building wasn't on the brink of colapse. | |

Yes there were many warning signs relating to deteriorating concrete. There should be no cracks in concrete and exposed rebar is a very bad sign. |  |

It has to be assessed. Indications are it was a concerte failure above grund not a foundation failure. This means a structural failure not a foundation failure.
The Grenfell disater is clearly a possible manslsughter case but proving it is not so easy. It seems pretty straight forward to me who is responsible. | |
