| Middlesbrough and Wycombe 08:06 - Jan 22 with 962 views | raynor94 | Both suing Derby, I can understand Wycombe claiming £6 million as Derby should have been relegated. But Middlesbrough £41 million! because they missed out on the play offs, there was.never any guarantee they would have reached the premier league. If Derby fold they are not going to come out of this well | |

| Middlesbrough and Wycombe on 21:39 - Jan 22 with 701 views | AguycalledJack | As I understand it, derby knowingly over evaluated the price of their players in their squad to raise funds which then enabled them to gazump Middlesbrough and sign players who Middlesbrough had already lined up and agreed to sign. There’s a pretty decent Facebook video on this point on talk sport where Simon Jordan explains the position. | | | |

It could be a long shot punt in the realms of "what is there to lose you never know". The potential buyer stated that these claims were no reason for the delay and could be dealt with post administration so were not particularly concerned.

I think a lot of it was to do with the owner selling the stadium to himself which helped them get around FFP. This enabled them to finance expensive transfers and loans like Mount, Tomori and Wilson.

Sheffield United got £20 million out of that, but I think that was an out of court settlement.
