The expectation of premier league football every season became the norm, and the new and younger fans knew nothing else. 0 Qualified writing, click above. Unqualified letters, click below,

The thought that we had reached he pinnacle of British football playing an attractive ( to most ) brand of football was one of pride , excitement and trepidation all rolled it one .Fearful that the naysayers would be proved correct in that we wouldn't survive with the lowest points tally was soon dispelled as the wins became more regular . Even though we were beaten v Citeh in our first game , the first half showed we could at least compete and that competitiveness continued and improved as the season continued . I remember cycling down to Landore pre season whilst it was still being built thinking , this how the future would be like and to crown it having a grandson selected for the Academy was the icing on the cake. Only happy memories for me

Funnily enough me and my wife went to the Citeh ground to see Take That about a week before the game. Remember thinking "Wow, we are playing here next week" Watching MOTD every week and seeing us on it (often last - cos we is Welsh innit ! ) The win against Citeh, the last home game v Liverpool, all in good spirits and lots of Elvis'. Knowing we would do it all again in a few months Fantastic memories

Immense pride Our club being complimented One of our fans making chums with a scouse fan and tarrying a while longer at the pub rather than jumping into the taxi.

Immense pride? That’s all you did during our promotion winning season was slag off our goalkeeper and a couple of our outfield players who played the majority of our games that season.

Undoubtedly the greatest manager in our club's history. To not only achieve promotion, but leave behind an incredibly talented first team squad and club ethos which took multiple managers and an incompetent boardroom years to dismantle is almost unheard of.

Same could be said of Martinez surely? A great manager for us, but IMHO Toshack did more, taking a team all the way from mid table in the Fourth Division to 6th place in the First Division. All about opinions, but don't see us making a film about any other manager in our history ?

| Rodgers quotes regards Swansea City and the club that made him on 18:08 - May 12 with 735 views | Lorax | After the Wembley victory I was so happy I was crying, I wasn't alone. I spoke to my wife on the phone and she thought I was drunk but I'd had only 2 pints that day and was stone cold sober, if a bit hoarse. That season was one of the finest times of my football watching life, not just winning games but making some big teams look ordinary. I was transported back to remembering Curt ripping Trevor Cherry apart, watching Ante bounce forwards around and Bob Latchford bouncing defenders around, great days and I'm incredibly lucky to have seen that success twice. The styles were very different but the feeling was the same, unbridled joy. Will I see such times again, I didn't think so after 1983 so who knows! PS, there's always somebody trying to sell something | | | |
