Also very fickle. Cooper has a totally different job to anything he’s done before, managing a bunch of 17 year olds or decent championship players to the big names he’s now managing, it’s is a different ball game. On a plus note we have Andy Conky telling us we should have him back if he gets the sack to look forward too.

Top man is Conky, we go back thirty years. And he’s still a whipper snapper. That doesn’t condone his judgement mind 😂

Decent shout there. But as soon as he loses another home game those that don’t recall the championship will be back. But they can easily turn. Premier league fans eh ? Quote - We've gone from having a lot of neutral fans wanting to see us back in the the prem to a lot of them now wanting us to go bust and it's largely because of the crap that pundits on TV, radio and written press up and down the country are saying. It's a silly point but even the fact sky sports are putting little blushing emojis in their tweets about our transfers just shows they are taking the piss.

He seems like a God on there reading that thread, people wanting him to get a new deal signed ASAP. Some sayings it’s rubbish and he won’t get sacked even if relegated. What the media are doing, as your quote rightly points out, is trying to make out Forest are going to be some kind of super power this season because they have spent some money. They are always going to be favourites to lose to the likes of Spurs, Man City, Man Utd, Arsenal, Liverpool, Brighton, Newcastle and Chelsea. The rest of them they will fancy beating at home and getting something from away. It’s a massive step up from the championship and they still have championship players in a few spots. 14th in the league is a good start from them after facing Spurs, Everton, Newcastle and West Ham. The aim will be to keep them up this year by any means necessary and kick on into mid table next season where they will be able to get rid of some dead wood and being in some more players to match the league standard. I see them being a permanent fixture in the EPL now, certainly over the next decade. Similar to Brighton - who also languished in 17th/16th for a few seasons until they spent enough to be able to compete higher up the league.

| Forest fans already turning against cooper on 00:48 - Aug 30 with 2922 views | Dr_Parnassus | Man City away next where they are likely to get thumped by 4 or 5. Then Bournemouth, Leeds, Fulham, Leicester, Villa and Wolves. If they can get 8+ points from those 7 games, that should maintain them nicely in mid table. | |

| Forest fans already turning against cooper on 07:55 - Aug 30 with 2742 views | jojaca | Forest will be absolutely fine this season, they have plenty of quality in that squad and pushed Spurs Sunday. Look at Bournemouth's squad and you looking at record low points again. Anybody with Chris Mepham in defence is in serious trouble. [Post edited 30 Aug 2022 7:57]

The quote refers to non-Forest fans, I don't think it's anything to do with Cooper. I can see where the Forest fan quoted is coming from but on the other side of the coin, I know some Forest fans who are bricking it over the amounts being spent on buying a completely new squad and the potential consequences if it goes belly up. It appears to be a massive gamble that is only sustainable whilst they remain in the division. I dread to think what they are paying some of their signings, the contract lengths and what clauses are in the contracts in the event of relegation. If they are under threat of relegation around xmas time I can see Cooper being under threat from the owners.

Well they only have to look at their local rivals to see what happens when it goes tits up. Apparently there owner is worth around 600 million which is all good news if he stick around.

Worth £600,000,000 doesn’t mean they have that to spend … although there are many who seem to think owners should give every penny until they are bankrupt. But, Forest fans should expect a good season as … Forest has spent £141 million this season that gives a deficit spend of £135,000,000? That also exceeds any newly promoted club in previous seasons.

They expect a decent season with what they've spent, decent being not relegated. However they are also bricking it a bit. As previous poster pointed out they've seen what has happened to their rivals.

Apparently there were a couple of callers on a local phone in on Sunday after losing to Spurs.

I only saw part of the Spurs game and in the bits I saw they did seem a bit open to a counter. Top forwards will make them pay for that. Need someone to score regularly for them.
| Forest fans already turning against cooper on 15:25 - Aug 30 with 2284 views | ploppy | Cooper's hardest job is going to be integrating 17 (SEVENTEEN for those who remember the Grandstand teleprinter) new players into his squad. | | | |
| Forest fans already turning against cooper on 15:44 - Aug 30 with 2268 views | Thrasher6 | They remind a bit of the Blackpool side that went up to the Prem...with that pr@ck Charlie Adam in their side...in the way they play. Loose at the back but exciting going forward. That said they have far more talent in their squad, that Blackpool could muster....so hopefully they'll adapt as the season progresses.. Edit: Haven't seen Charlie Adam doing any punditry of late. God he was dreadful when his agent...presumably...got him gigs on the telly. Awful individual... [Post edited 30 Aug 2022 16:04]
