That goal came about primarily because Cancelo lost his bearings, but also because Liverpool are not a long ball team.
If that’s your usual tactic, it’s incredibly easy to defend.
If you’re a footballing team and opponents expect you to either try to pass through them or counter attack at pace, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with the occasional hopeful punt they aren’t expecting.
I’d like us to try something like that, just once or twice a match when Obafemi is on the pitch. It won’t work very often, but at the very least it will make us less predictable and force opponents to defend a bit deeper.

Add Oko- flex to the mix who we know is ripping his team mates apart in training with his pace and yes your sentiments are quite correct. But I feel OHL was having a slight snipe at Martin’s style of play there. There are other examples this season of switching play to do the same as the swans did at Blackpool.
A great believer in taking anything you like to wherever you want to.

Of course he was. Any angle to have a pop at Martin. Even Liverpool scoring the most un-Liverpool goal they will all season.
He did have a fair point though, even if he only intended it as a swipe.

I can’t help what you feel Keith. You may be right, you may be wrong
I have not been posting contrary to your Rules of posting.
I try to debate .
Snide remarks abound ,as you know.
I’m not sure OHL knows exactly what style Martin has so I can’t really attack a style ,only what I see and what I saw on Saturday was exactly what did you and therefore comments reflect that .
Are we that restricted now by not being able to post frankly.
Surely the whole point is not to be predictable and adapt to what is happening on the pitch. One style does not fit all.
Well yes it is. Play ne way and opponents will shaft you. We might be the most precdic@table of opponents as all sides know exactly what to do . Pretty obvious or at least it should be.

Are we to be railroaded into submission .
Is this where we are

And yet 4 out of the last 5 teams we have played haven't know what to do until it was too late (I am being selective in the choice of games) I think Martin is not an experienced coach for all his talk and will have to learn to adapt his tactics to get better use out of the players he has, to get consistent results he might even have to look at players he has put to one side .

Oba should always be up and around the half way line, when we are defending corners/free kicks around the box, another player would be useful as well, but not always possible, Oba could wander around centrally or on either wing, firstly it occupies the mind of the opposition and pulls a player, probably to out of their attack, this of course can and should be pre planned on the training field.

You d think so wouldn’t you S. Blindingly obvious really. I’ve wobbled my head .It didn’t hurt at all . Our team plays the same ,every game .
I thought Martin had changed the way we play because people on here stated he should ?
Morning Keith Another day eh.
We haven’t changed re@only have we. Burnley showed that clearly. We still look all too fragile and even now insists on playing from the back every time .
Not sure about you but I am not keen on my team, representing my home town, being trashed. It’s not just me either. Martins is not learning is he really.

Maybe just a silly phase I’m going through.
Probably is.

Just done some hard graft gardening and shifted a ton of stones for the new patio. Nice n warm but cloudy today. You ?
It was warm but cloudy in Lanza. I find Spaniards pretty unfriendly and their attitude to customers lacking.
It might be me,but we find th3 French more welcoming especially if you go to the south west . We spent two weeks in Beziers,a cr@hole admittedly but so welcoming to someone ,like me,who could hold a conversation in French about French rugby even going back to the likes of Albaladejo.
Glorious in west Wirral .had lunch outside in Livery stables business and after puppy dog training ,settling down to,an evening of glorious Swans .
