When Bristol City were knocked for seven … 26th Oct 2022 19:07
Danny Wilson had been sacked as Bristol City manager and club stalwart Brian Tinnion had taken up the reigns to try and sort out the mess that was currently happening at Ashton Gate. And to be honest it wasn’t the worst of managerial journeys. The robins were always in the higher echelons of league one but Tinnion always seemed to be up against the clubs expectancy they would return to the championship. 0

Tin, Tinnion boo hoo. Click above.

Promising Welsh u19 player David Cotterill scored the goal for Bristol. Uncle of the Swansea u21 player. He went on to play for Swansea after not hitting the height expected at Wigan possibly under Roberto who remembered him?

Scored a blinder at Leicester I recall. FA Cup I think.

Scintillating performance that day under our manager Kenny Jackett.

McLeod hatrick. Another gross waste of talent.

I was there that incredible day had a few beers outside the Mexico Fountain (yes it was still there back in those days !) then witnessed a surreal game with lots of goals.
Back in those days we trained at Llandarcy within the same facilities as ‘Joe Public’ and I was a member at the time so remember being in the showers with Trunds & Kevin Macleod shortly after that game (both proud Evertonians) and was even in the hottub one day when Roberto asked me if he could join me !!

Amazing then how football has moved on to a different stratosphere since those days, money being the route cause of the alienation of fans from the Club/players etc …

I recall once back in the ‘dark old days’ when after a game at the Vetch I went back to the Harry Griffiths Bar for a beer as usual but on my way back from the bog I opened the door to the Manager’s room by mistake whereupon Nick Cusack remarked ‘can I help you mate ?’.,.!!

Enough said !!

Wonderful memories indeed !!

Poll: Why is this site so quiet these days ?

The answer to Cusack’s question is definitely ‘ No’

That brief period where Kevin McLeod looked like a quality player. Scored 3 against Brizzle just after a cracking performance away at Walsall when we got 5.
I think we gave him a new contract shortly after & it's fair to say his career went downhill rapidly.

Never left the riverside bar and left for the railway at one nil 🤦‍♂️ Absolutely gutted , I was told there was a massive cheer around the ground when Bristol scored
