| The unexpected 23:19 - Feb 3 with 1447 views | SullutaCreturned | Well then, when you finish work on a Friday and go home, decide that it's a chip shop tea and head off for the 10 minute walk you don't expect to come home and find out that some toerag has tried to out your front door through. But that's what happened tonight. My wife was in and she said there was an almighty bang which, not surprisingly scared her. I looked at the door and the bottom hinge has been forced back, the middle hinge has shifted and ther is a gap at the hinge big enough to see light through. I rang the police, got an incident number for the insurance. Again not suprisingly, there's little the police can do. We have no idea who did it or why apart from a neighbour said they heard the noise and looked out the window to see someone running away. It doesn't seem like they were trying to break in, they just wanted to damage the door as they made so much noise the neighbours both sides heard it and they were gone before anybody came out. Fortunately the door is still fairly solid and the locks work. I put an insurance claim in online and now have to wait up to 7 working days for a surveyor, seems a bit long that but what can I do. We have security cameras on order now and someone coming to fit them, a friend so they should be up Monday. There are some real A wipes around aye. | | | | |

| The unexpected on 23:54 - Feb 3 with 1419 views | Boundy | So sorry to hear that , must be worrying if you have no idea as to who it was or why , hopefully it was a case of mistaken identity, but not much comfort I know | |

We have 2 cameras coming, decent ones apparently, our neighbour has them. 2 is enough for our house. Cheers guys, stay alert, the world has far too many A holes in it.

No need for a baseball bat as there are plenty of domestic implements that can be used . I’d better leave it there Sadly, this sort of thing is seen as petty crime unless there is a racial element It is unsettling though We ve been lucky in avoiding that which is just as well really

Read into the ring doorbell before buying, you need a monthly subscription to record what goes on.

| The unexpected on 19:02 - Feb 4 with 1123 views | SullutaCreturned | We're not getting the doorbell, just going with the cameras. They'll be wired in and will record. We're putting a security light up out the back too, motion sensitive. There's a street light right out the front which lights up the whole front garden, which I'm glad I stripped back and put chippings on because there's nowhere to hide. I'm also glad we got another dog because at least he barks at the door if anyone comes near. My wife still feels unsettled, she said last night was the first time she didn'tfeel safe. I'll be happier when the door is fixed (waiting on insurance) and the cameras are up. | | | |

Not true. You can record on smartphone or similar. Think I pay around £30 something once a year

Yes the video is yours for 24 hours if you have an issue just download it straight away. The only issue with that is if you're away for a week on holiday for example but as I said previous on the hive just sign up for a month then cancel
