He needs to stop getting booked for silly things, he then has to walk a tightrope for the rest of the game.
Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

With experience he had learned to get closer to the players he was marking and didn't need to dive in so much until the play off final and the sudden rush of blood to the head. The room we offer the opposition all round the park is awful and leads to rash challenges but against Bristol we were much better and condensed the play properly when we didn't have the ball, so we were closer to players so were effective in our marking, interceptions and tackling.

How much of this do you feel is down to playing a back four. We didn't have to drop back as much and cover the advancing "wingbacks". Giving the midfield more time and space further up the pitch.

Fortunately, as with Benda, we're lucky that Russy didn't get his way when he tried to move him on.

It made a big difference we didn't give their wide player the oceans of space to pick and choose their best options plus defence attacking the aerial ball, not playing the short goal kick straight from the off making to opposition have to make decisions whether to press or not and taking quick throwing, basically not being as predictable as we had become. The game could have swung quite easily if a penalty had been given but at least we got on the front foot early then didn't invite them high up the pitch by dropping back so much.

Good to hear & well deserved imo. It’s not that long ago that the manager wouldn’t pick him & the club tried to offload him but he refused to take a move with a pay cut. He can play possession football with good physical presence in the midfield not afraid to put his foot in. Gets booked too easily as he gets caught out of position a lot but he is more than capable of breaking up the opposition game. This probably means that he has settled for what he is getting or even taken a pay cut. A good solid signing.
Contract extensions are proving to a bit more elusive for our more creative players & players with an eye for goal. Unfortunately Piroe & Ntcham will more than likely be moved on. Therein lies the problem, replacing them with players as good or better for less money - not going to happen with the current recruitment set up & the downward spiral beckons

I also think playing this way the midfield waste less energy and it was the reason Ntcham lasted so long.

A player told he was not wanted ,now rightfully, given a New contract. He is a real pro and was not treated well .that he is staying is remarkable. Why is he not captain .

Total agreed about the energy being spent by the midfield continually trying to cover box to box is sapping, as is the wingback play when we drop so far back. Succeeds in exhausting our players not the opposition's as the plan A was supposed to do. Glad Fulton has signed a new contract with his experience at this level to aid the youngsters coming through and keeps the strength of the squad up. Ntcham is a big unit to have to go box to box, Christie struggled similarly and eventually the likes of Laird, and Wolf as wingbacks did. Fulton was played as a wingback this season and after 60 minutes looked as if he was treading water.

Sorry can't agree with that. Jay player of the year and most important player. Piroe next for sure. Then the others. Be good to see the others signed up soon and build on it in the new season.

Agree with you here 17. Ntcham has had a couple of good halves and the odd good game. Walsh looks promising but has already used up two good years of wages with his injuries. Wood had his best game for us Saturday up til then been pretty gash. I wouldn't bank on us sticking to a back 4 under our Pep which made Wood look more comfortable. Of course that's just my opinion.

Based on this season's performances the obvious midfield is Fulton, Ntcham and one other.
Fulton has been excellent all year, and Oli is the only one of them to consistently offer a goal or assist threat. The third slot can vary depending upon form/opposition.

Manning has to be priority. Just give him what he needs, he still won’t be our highest paid player.
