Chelsea have not improved since Potter left and now Spurs sack their interim manager.

Got to admit Spurs are a basket case of a club not surprised they sacked the manager was more surprised they appointed the number 2 of their previous manager.

They won’t win anything with Levy at the helm.

There's more madness than ever this season.

Chelsea
Spurs
Southampton
Forest
Everton
Leicester
Leeds

All making questionable decisions.

It wasn’t that long ago that we had the likes of Daps and others who now claim to love the manager, slagging off our owners for not sacking him then and there.

I was hammered by them for suggesting we wait until the end of the season to do anything.

So this mindset unfortunately is rife in football.

Martin should have been sacked months ago.
We have endured the worst run of form in years. At one point we had picked up around 12 points from the previous 60 available.
We now sit in 12th and people are making out like he is the new Alex Ferguson. He's not. He's absolutely dreadful.
A bit of a run of form and all the horrendous game management, the myriad of points dropped from mistakes, the pathetic excuse making is all forgiven.
Not long ago people were making claims to the genius of the Americans because they knew not to invest in January because we had no hope of going up or down. The best thing about this run of form is that it's blown that argument out of the water. Now they are back to their usual penny pinching and clueless, which is more accurate

Genuine question? Who is making out that RM is the new Alex Ferguson?

I think people are upbeat because the team they love are doing well.

Nobody is. That's hyperbolic silliness on the OP's part.

However, it is pretty bizarre that after nearly two years of occasional excellence and far more regular incompetence people are claiming that our current, very pleasing and much welcomed run of form is the natural outcome of some long term plan. That the man responsible for it should immediately be given a new contract and millions to spend.

There is rather more evidence to suggest that said current form is the result of that long term plan being dispensed with, and the fact that it's taken so long for such obvious changes to be made is a very good argument not to rush into giving the person responsible any more job security until we're absolutely sure that he's not going to revert to previous habits.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Possibly because they want to get the people they want lined up before somebody else snaps them up?

Couldn't they have lined the replacements up before sacking their current manager?

I think, given time, Potter would have turned it around. The others I don't know about.

I think managers generally aren't given enough time but on the other hand, 18 months is plenty of time!
