| Nice little earner. Cymru am byth 14:22 - Jul 13 with 3565 views | ReslovenSwan1 | Half a million for the winter World cup. Gareth Bale and co helps out Swansea. Swansea city is a Welsh club and this is why it get a decent pay check. Ntcham also played for Cameroon. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/66183016 Swansea need to get more Welsh internationals and Wales more qualifications. $$$$. The FAW need to understand Swansea play proper football and use the Swansea philosophy as a template for Wales. Cabango, Cooper, Cullen, Congreve, Lloyd, Cotterill Josh Thomas along with old boys Davies Rodon, Roberts, James have all played modern progressive football where player are comfortable in possession and always have a pass available. This is of no use if the manager has a different route one philosophy like Page. Care has to be taken in appointments. FAW should not simply do what is cheap and convenient. The Welsh way has to mean something. [Post edited 13 Jul 2023 14:48]

Let’s put it this way ,Swansea playing in the fifth level against Boreham Wood and Wales qualifying for World cups etc or Swans getting back to the Prem and Wales relegated to the next level down . No contest for me. Swans is every week It’s ok for Gogs to large it as Wales fans but they don’t have a club to support at the top end of the Pyramid system . Connahs Quay v Bala can’t be that enthralling .

I have a different perspective, I have empathy for where I was born and raised and the history of the place. It is huge excellent example to the world in terms of peace and ethnic tolerance. An Arab owned Swansea team with no Welsh players would rapidly lose interest for me. It may as well move to Ashford in Kent for the great commercial possibilities and better communications. It is not just about being lucrative. Swansea can have it all. Premier league with local footballers. Swansea will never be successful by the force of the chequebook.

As a Jack,I disagree completely . Being owned by Middle East mega rich wouldn’t disturb me too much. I doubt Man City fans are bothered about the human rights issues in Qatar, considering they were up the creek not that ago under Peter Swales era .

What if the Arabs relocated the club to Kent. It matters not too much to you as you do not live in south west Wales. Or Stafford much closer to you.

Nothing "Dear me Guff" about it. I was born in the Neath Valley and i am not a Jack. I however love Swansea City AFC because it is in my part of the world. I an not a rugby fan that focuses on the next town and never goes down the valley. I am not parochial. I love the provenance. Swansea city represent Swansea and south west Wales and Wales. it represented England in the 2014 Euro campaign. It did not represent the United Kingdom. I accepted this as a quirk of history. You are flag waver and Unionist and put The State (Monarchy House of Lords etc) over local cultural and historical heritage. Nothing wrong with that. You should have no issue therefore with moving Swansea city AFC out of Wales to an up and coming growing town like Ashford in Kent. It has great communications and within one hour of the UK capital London. I asked OHL the same question. Would you support Swansea city AFC if Arab owners moved it to Kent?. He would did answer of course.

Arab owners and moving it to Kent? Lord talk about manipulation of a question 😂 I think the biggest lie in football is any club not wanting oil money backing it up! Man U fans have said for years about city , human rights ,bad money, selling their soaps ect. United is up for sale guess who most man U fans want ?that's right oil money. If a qutar oil barran wanted the Swans we would take the money both hands. Anyone who says no is talking crap. As the quality of say a 15 year old Cullen training with mbappe or any other top 30 player , would make them up their game. Do you think foden would be the same player coming through at notts county?

Its an hypothetical question the exile and flagman decline to answer. I follow Swansea because it is in Wales near where i was raised. The fact it plays in white has a good brand and a good style of football is a bonus. The flagman and the exile have a distaste for Wales its culture the people and the national football team. They, I believe would be happy to see Swansea play somewhere in England with all English players and become and English based club under Arabic owners. I would not. They profess never ending love and pride for Swansea City but no love or pride for the geographical area and its culture and heritage it is based in. By that logic moving to Kent would not bother them at all. The US owners would take most of the money from the Arabs. Perhaps that is their long term plan.

I am pretty sure any Arab who bought Swansea City would have no intention of moving it to Ashford they’d buy Gillingham if they wanted a club in Kent. What a ridiculous thing to bring up. For the record I’m proud of being Welsh (& British)& my dislike of the Welsh government & how it is sending Wales backwards is a testimony to that, you however see that as disliking my country which in my eyes makes you rather stupid.

But the step up to Championship level from Academy level takes some doing for individual players let alone as a group. We do have a number of youngsters player for the different Welsh age groups so maybe a group having that international experience together can cement that competitive camaraderie to the benefit of the Swans. But At Championship level once the pounds signs start spinning you cannot expect up and coming players thinking they can hit the jackpot Curtis went given the chance maybe the grass is greener on the other side but sometimes not, good luck to them.Who would turn their noses up at the return of playersl ike Joe Rodon and Dan James to assist us at Championship level. "Swansea boys" who I'm sure would show the commitment like Allen has on his return, Curtis and Leon did. I come to the last player mentioned Leon Britton not Welsh would you rather he didn't play for us? Players come and go Welsh, Irish, Scottish, English, Dutch, Spanish, the list goes on Hutchinson, Toshack, Mahoney, Latchford, Michu, Angel would you rather they didn't come to the club, happy to see players from wherever providing they show their commitment to the club and improve the quality of the team of players on the pitch for however long they stay and in whatever capacity they are appointed. To be fair to Manning(not Welsh) had his good and bad points but he seemed to play for the shirt that is Swansea City FC up to the end of his time here. All you can ask for really.

Lets not blur the argument for the hard of thinking. We all celebrate our first team winning - and that means getting the best players you can. jDG, Leon, Bony, Nathan, Wayne, the big Pole, Rangel, Roberto, Siggy, Scotty, the Evil Genius, Trunds all a joy. And money helps. This thread is about our ability to produce young welsh qualified olayers who are good enough to get a first team jersey at Swansea City. And hopefully Wales. We are good at this - as you say, always nice to see it. Many of us remember Curt, Robbie, Charlo and Wyndham. We were drunk with cash and agents once we hit the Prem. Instead of focusing on what we had always been good at, all of a sudden we flashed the cash below first team level, shirts given below first team level to Gorre and Zabret for years, also 7 players from Scotland (most Falkirk). Thats bizarre as Scotland produce so few good players. Grimes and McBurnie are the only two to pay off. Millions spent that could been spent on the first team and maybe kept us up. The day we got relegated the Academy had contributed no first team player in the 7 years between Ben and Roberts. Roberts played that day nobody else good enough to be involved. Do what we are good at below first team level. Benefits Swans and Wales. Hard work and great coaching with our local players, not flashy lazy short cuts to pander to agents. I am sure you agree.
