Maritimo have only stated ‘termination agreement’

And two very credible Portuguese journalists who worked with us when Franco was signed.
From what we have there’s no suggestion of a release clause of a million euros, even Maritimo are calling it a ‘termination agreement’ which seems lost on our intrepid reporters in Wales. That covers all aspects of someone leaving a club. Not just any release clause. That includes paying up contracts, and other caveats. No Portuguese club would ever put a million euros on a release clause for a second division manager we are told. Clubs in Portugal wouldn’t look at it even the top clubs for a man like Matos. And when his contract was agreed in June there was no way Maritimo would be contemplating losing Matos to the Championship in England. We are hearing the overall details will be seven figures for Matos (and he wants to bring at least one with him) but that’s all inclusive all in, like our shit holidays in the Sun.
A termination agreement is not a release clause !

No mate a release clause as we’ve explained is completely different to a termination agreement. If the media report something we always check it and check it again. A release clause is a figure that doesn’t include any termination. So, Matos contract, caveats etc would be added onto a release clause, if the rumours of staff coming in with him a termination includes them or ‘he’ as well. It’s lazy journalism from people who haven’t got the mindset to question why.
Maritimo have never mentioned a release clause because it’s a termination agreement, which they have mentioned, both widely different in football circles. It may look like semantics but professional journalists are most certainly not what they used to be. | |

So if I understand correctly, if there was a release clause

😂 The whole thing is a seven figure amount.
There will always be a release clause, but not what is being reported. As we said no second division Portuguese club would ever do that. Matos has no value to the top league, they wouldn’t go near him even now. The whole thing is a termination agreement which is all in, everything paid up.
I think some people are referring that us and another website, not Phils are stating us and Vital said it would be sorted within 24 hours. We didn’t state that yesterday.
But we did say this -
Maritímo boss Vitor Matos is reported as no more than twenty four hours away from being announced as the new Swansea City head coach. Then we will know who is staff will be and potentially put aside any concerns regards the current coaching team at Swansea.
As that was the intro to the report you would have thought even Twitter folk would get that far 🤤
