Burgess has been massive let down this season. His passing is woeful. Not sure if it would be even possible, but I would be looking to sell Burgess.
From Matos post match today sounds like he still likes him as a player.

I see Cabango as a great young pro and club man but he’s awkward when asked to play pretty
I recall a coach deploying him as a right back , our perennial problem and it was grotesque

He's never been much cop with the ball at his feet. Got covered for a lot by Darling last season. We've seen his limitations laid bare by those circumstances. | |

Some central defenders are better with the ball at their feet than others. It's just one of those things.
He's not a bad player. He wouldn't have spent the majority of his career at this level otherwise, but there are weaknesses to his game that are fairly obvious and have put off teams higher up the pyramid from taking a look at him. Alongside a more technically capable CB he's looked decent. As did Burgess at Ipswich. Putting them both together is the problem. | |
