That’s fine but his misplaced passing, really amateur at times has nothing to do with his CH partner. Once, maybe twice happens to everyone but the number of incidents we see with Burgess is well beyond what we should.

Uncertainty causes players to make decisions that they might not always. If Burgess had a partner who he knew was comfortable on the ball, would he play so many risky passes himself? Or vice versa?
That's not taking into account the fact that our regular #6 isn't exactly great on the ball himself. I wonder if it's worth doing a deep dive on the number of risky passes Burgess plays when Stamenic is playing DM versus anyone else.

It would be interesting to see the statistics in relation to his completed passes which IMO are short to Cabango, whilst Cabango has a higher percentage of completed passes forward. The statistics department could well prove me wrong but its the way I normally see it.

He’s been disappointing on the whole unfortunately. And as you say, same for Cabango.
Whether we’ll see a new partnership next season remains to be seen but it does seem from what I read in here that Lissah is in the frame.
We just need some solid basic defending Nothing clever or intricate If it needs to be booted into Row Z then do it We have done skilful players but if I suggested we lack physicality the usual sone would pop up about my being obsessed with size And that’s fair We should be We are too weak and this is a physical league
For a big man Burgess is very lacking Cabango is also the worst header of a ball I’ve seen since Ash ( bless him) Ash was a rock though
Burgess is being asked to play in a way that doesn’t suit him , let him deal with the high balls and he’s one of the best,ask him to be Beckenbauer and he struggles,just let him do the simple stuff and we’ll be fine All the faffing about at the back puts pressure on the whole defence,Cabango makes horrible mistakes as well but doesn’t get the same stick We should just get the ball forward quicker ,sideways and back just invites a press we can’t cope with and we even do it when we are losing…incredulous and very boring and ambitionless It really is a simple game but we over complicate things for no good reason , Our midfield needs to move around more making themselves available for passes instead of being static and easy to mark ,they also need to be better defensively getting more tackles in and winning more ball ,we just give players too much time and space to walk through us When we do play forward with pace we look a good side,so let’s see more of it

Thought he put some credit in the bank with last nights performance . He made some effective blocks at times and noticably put his boot through the ball instead of turning back and passing sideways. We looked more solid for it Cabango also played safety first last night. I would still like to see Burgess get off the ground more though Hes 6 foot 4 but could reach far higher by jumping up . More dynamism would get further distance on his clearances.A good performance from him last night though overrall.

I haven't ridden that particular stretch myself but I wouldn't mind. The cathedral in the city is worth a visit it's at the top of a steep hill.

We played Lincoln many times in leagues gone by. I looked at the National League on the weekend and there's about 10 there who we used to play most seasons. A stark warning of be careful what you wish for and enjoy what you have.
