No artist of repute (at least not one in their prime) would enter it.
At the moment the song is selected by BBC "experts" which is why we've ended up with the shite that we mostly have for the last few years. Sam Ryder was the only one up to the job and would have won if not for the Ukrainian sympathy vote.
It should be an open competition for unsigned artists. Run it like a talent show with public voting. Let people upload videos of them performing their songs, then whittle them down to a live show/shows to decide the entrant. |  |
