It’s a lot harder to stay in the PL these days ,the days of smaller clubs staying up as long as we did is probably a thing of the past,unless you can get an owner with bottomless pockets to fund you ,which is what all clubs yearn for

Aaron Ramsdale has gone for that much at least twice I think, and Rushworth's ceiling might be higher.
Clubs seem happy enough to fling around transfer fees of £30-40m quite freely these days so you'd think that a quality goalkeeper would command something similar considering how badly a rubbish one can ruin everything else that you've got. [Post edited 4 Jun 16:38]

A point I've been making for quite some time.
All the transfer window policy has done has inflate player prices and wages as desperate clubs compete to complete deals within a short window. It's basic supply/demand economics. Remove the tight supply and prices will fall.
That's not going into the obvious stuff about clubs negotiating with players outside the window and without their clubs knowledge all the time. | |
