A friend of mine told me the other day that his daughter in law’s scan showed that his impending new grandchild would be “a boy”. I helpfully pointed out that he shouldn’t burden the child with outmoded gender labels before they are even born. He’s now agreed to refer to them as a “male child” and allow the child to make their own, pressure free gender choice or choices. I’m a good friend and he’s very grateful to me for helping to ensure that his grandchild is not burdened by societal expectations. | |

That’s a statement, not a query. I fear we may be talking at cross purposes here. Are you referring to the apparent outrage that led to Kleenex changing the description of its large tissues? Cos there wasn’t any. Or the outpouring of outrage towards Kleenex that followed that decision? | |
