I have seen all sorts of dimwittery. Down Wind Street one night I sw a Paramedic attacked while treating somebody, the attackers were the victims friends who, in their drunken stupidity thought the Paramedic was attcking theur friend.
I've seen people in hospital abusing the staff who are helping them.
Firemen risk their lives to save other people and they get attacked.

I can understand Police getting attacked especially when taking away people's freedom to commit crime.I was assaulted countless times. Part of the job. Problem is Courts still will not punish and too many politicians back the perps.
Ive been on many many jobs involving firefighters and although political they are very left wing I have nothing but admiration for them. A great body of people who walk right into danger,whilst the public gawps and films on their phones. It shows what our drinking culture is all about when thee people are attacked for saving lives. Alcohol and drugs are the core of our problems and nothing will save us until we do. Successive Governments have ignored thi basic issue.

But it isnt the case assaults are always alcohol or drugs fuelled.
Police eem fair game to be tw@tted and apart from crocodile tears and faux oitrage ,nothing is done.
Seems personal self defence training isnt what it was and avoiding upsetting perps especially in the ethnic communities seems to the fore instead. | |

And quite often it becomes mitigation in Court as defence solicitors try to minimise sentences etc. Anyone having a pop at a paramedic, fireman, nurse or cop who is merely doing their job should be looking at jail, if they are drunk or ugh that should be an aggravating factor not a defence or excuse.

One of the National newspapers featured a story on a woman who fell after being pushed by police at a protest last week, the readers comments were by en large were very supportive of the police officer who pushed. If someone gets too close to a cop in a demo, what do they expect? The police are entitled to defend themselves. [Post edited 30 Sep 2020 15:28]

Anyone assaulting any emergency service worker has to invoke a mandatory jail sentence and maybe a shift with a firefighter or paramedic.
Assaulting these people is an affront to us all.
Im not going to comment any further as regards Solicitors or Barristers suffice to say that these people ,often politicians ,have defended the likes of Ian Brady ,Hindley, Nilsen with a view to having them seen as insane and thus have a better incarceration | |
