How about a bit of good news in and amongst all the doom 'n gloom of retail closures and job losses in our fair City by the sea.

Murmurings that The Observatory (on the seafront near the Marina) is looking to open soon. Clever timing for a 'soft open' to avoid the drunken festive rabble. No doubt offering fine food, coffees n croissants and the like for the discerning punter, within a backdrop of music (often live)and music memorabilia. Hats off to another local successful entrepreneur bringing more jobs and giving the area another lift.

Possibly a members only venue. Rub shoulders with our local Swans football stars and their glamorous wags. The perfect place for the affluent exiled in england jacks when they pop back.

I welcome any new entreprise into an area that although is mainly residential is in need of additional facilities . Sad to note that the cafe on the corner adjacent to the little park by the marina entrance has succumbed and closed . Also well done for the council finally reopening a much needed facility, the public toilets up from the pilots house cycle shop .

Yes but I suppose he'll be employing local staff ,although he's taken an age to get this completed , I think he started converting it 5 years ago ?

I can see you've put some effort into that post.

Sadly, it reads like a substandard marketing copywriter's drivel.

"Discerning...members only...affluent exiles...glamorous WAGS...fine food..."

Sounds hellish to me.

I'd rather sit on the steps in front of County Hall with the fishermen, drinking cans of Special Brew.

Which reminds me: that game down the Vetch against Hull City, where we needed to win to stay in the league. I was offered a complimentary ticket to the corporate section, 3 course meal, wine, the chance to schmooze with directors and local business goons etc.

Are you kidding me?

Paid my tenner, or whatever it was back then, and went on the North Bank.

Guess I must be part of the rabble.

Bump.

Another Swansea city good news story unfolds - against all odds.

The clever ruse to get the authorities on-side seems to have done the job.

Bravo to another Swansea success story.
