Im not surprised football is ruthless and he hasn't set the world on fire. Hopefully he has a club and we have a big sell on just incase he does improve. This summer we are doing more business in and out than we ever have. Massive restructure at the club.

He only scored a couple of goals 3 or 4? Last year of his contract so a decision needed to be made.

Didn't result in many goals but Falkirk fans liked him. For me you've got to have faith in your coaches ability to improve him

Or faith in a coaches opinion to let a player go. Personally I think Woodward has moved above him and there is Bobby Wales at a similar age.

Not good enough for pushing for a first team place

But wish him all the best for the future I'm sure he won't have a problem finding a club

You give it out, you take it back it`s all part of the game

Read he's off to KAA Gent in the Belgian top league so hopefully we've actually got some decent money + sell on for him

He's the perfect example of where we're going wrong with youth development.

He's 22 in December, and last season was the first sustained period of games in his career. He's played less than 50 meaningful matches in total, and 15 of those were in non-league. He should have played more than that before he hit 20.

He can have all the talent in the World, and it does look like he's got a lot, but we've not given him (or others) adequate chances to put that talent into application against opposition that will teach them anything.

Anyone we've got in the youth setup who we think can make pro should be off out on loan at 17-18. Not sitting in the u21's. We're stifling their development otherwise because they're simply not testing themselves enough.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Think that's right for him. If your loaned out twice and still not going to nail a spot in the first squad when you return. It has to be time to go to a new club. Similar to Congreve.

Totally agree, I am beginning to wonder will we attract the best Welsh young talent in the future as hardly anyone our academy have broken through to the first team of late as regulars,Cabango I think being the last and he has his critics.
Porridge talked of getting back to Cat A whats the point.
I know situations have been different but if parents look up the road the Cardiff team has many academy players in their first team this may well influence parents to which academy their child attends

We have decent players coming through Lissah, Parker and Woodward being examples. Cat1 is essential for progression that alone will draw the cream of the crop.

It will attract better players, it will put us in a stronger position to retain those players, and they'll be playing against better opposition.

Players also retired earlier in those days freeing up space for youngsters. Progression in diet and training methods means longevity. There were always exceptions, the norm was retirement at early 30s now its up 4 or 5 years. Players like Dennis Law retiring at 34 were the exception, he would be playing until nearly 40 now.

Hardly any foreign players either. Mainly home grown.

Not forgetting Curtis to make up a trio who always looked for each other which teams knew but they couldn't stop them because the options that it gave them on the ball.
Players come and go or drop down the pecking order as you climb higher but it was a pleasure to see them playing together and how their play progress as individual as well

Joined Gent, allegedly just over half a million but not confirmed with sell on etc.

I see nothing wrong with moving these players on, we get a small.fee and hopefully a decent sell on or buyback, its freeing up space for the next generation coming through.

Yes having a throughput of players who make the professional grade is a positive sign and as you say also a potential source of income

Yeah I don't mind it. Misread it as if we'd released him originally
