Contract up in June.
Do we retain him ?

We have to be looking for better. Average players make an average team.

Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

according to WoL it seems Nartin has indicated he will be gone I'd rather Fulton to be honest and we have a wealth in midfield so for me it's any easy one to release him and frees up money for wages for a defender

I’ve said elsewhere Congreve looks more than an adequate replacement, so that’s one tick then 👍

One of several to let go. I would move Fulton on as well if we can.

Yes, he put a shift in yesterday, fair play.

He doesn’t have to go but then again Martin hasn’t really wanted him since September.

As a DM we could do a lot worse. RM seems determined to play him anywhere else though so best he moves on.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Would be a major positive if Fulton and Bennett moved on for all concerned.

When does Jay's contract end. To me he is one of our better all round deep midfielders. He doesn't have the superlative pass but he can bloody tackle and he can score goals.

Swansea City in more contract muddles with unwanted players 29th Apr 2022 15:12
Swansea City boss Russell Martin has stated that Ryan Bennett is one of a growing number of squad players no longer required at Swansea City. So much so even when selecting his bench for the last handful of games he hasn’t made the cut. And he has explained why. 1

Martin is cutting his nose off to spite his face in ignoring Bennett and formerly Fulton, especially when you consider their wages.

He mentions outside influences in Bennetts case, perhaps he likes his food and a beer, nothing wrong with that in moderation, plus at his age he may feel he's entitled, that said he has an obligation to be the best he can be given what he earns, I'd have thought anyway.

I'd let him go. If Fulton, Smith and Bennett go we can afford 2 better players and still save some money.

AS DrW says though, Martin insists on playing Smith anywhere but his best position, so does it matter. We could sign Lionel Messi and he'd end up in goals!
