This article is extremely interesting, not only as an insight but because Jerome has personal experience in coaching and game management. It definitely gives an improved insight in to the mindset of the new swans boss, and most certainly his ongoing game to game improvement. 0 A proper assessment, click above. | Russell Martin’s Swansea City system analysed on 17:10 - Sep 24 with 976 views | onehunglow | Here is OHL's analysis.Much easier to read and understand.# Rus is trying t play pretty football by passing as much as possible even though kit means we dont score many goals. Luton excepted of course. A freak show really. Players playing out of position and being told to play as he wants even though it is strange to them to do so .Anyone who dissents is benched. Anyone who scores ,like Whittaker is also benched before Russ sends him out for loan. Cullen meanwhile, who hasnt and will never score is free to play and seen as attractive by Russ. Cabango,a fine young prospect now seen as a liability by some of our experts as he cant kick much with his left foot;which is why Russ plays him there. Players who need game time as much as possible are rested midweek, when they should be getting that game time. Anyone who disagrees is an utter moron ,apparently.

As mentioned its all about pace of moving the ball in the opposition half. Glad he's picked up on Downes role, criminally slated by some on here. Going to be a big talent, hopefully for us.
| Russell Martin’s Swansea City system analysed on 23:41 - Sep 24 with 597 views | max936 | I think we need a win tomorrow by whatever means to lift the mood, confidence and the belief that we've heading upwards. I think Russell feels it to, poor bugger probably won't sleep tonight. | |

Agree totally. I for one was a little misunderstood regarding what our players are actually being asked to do in their individual roles. I have never seen a back 3 playing so far apart. I've been a little confused as to Downes' role, as I've commented a few times on him playing as CB. AS well as a few other pieces of Martin's style. Great article. Well explained. Thank you sir.

Exactly. It's not just a case of players needing to get into the practice of short passes and playing out from the back. Each player has a specific role to play and these roles need to be fully understood and worked on. Some of these roles are completely different to what they are used to and some are even in different positions that they are used to playing. Even the ones who are still playing in their preferred positions, will have a totally different job to do and role to play. Massive upheaval for everyone, not simply a change in passing length. Hence why they will need time to get it right. The players are young and this will need patience, simple.

No but that phrase has been used as a pejorative about people les sanguine about Russ as you. You need to accept the fact not all feel as you do. You seem rather to close to him. I hope any worries will prove unfounded come next May and us doubters will be getting the usual spouting of bile from people like you. It could be the case our worries ARE founded which will leave you shattered. Be very very wary of entrusting Martin with everything we hold dear.

Ah come on, nobody on here has a dislike of Martin like you, been on his case from day one. Even resorting to personal insults calling him a bullshiter. 99% of people on here are willing to give him a fair crack of the whip. It was always going to be a transitional season.

Not quite true Ray. Not from day one,so that blows your invective out of the water. It is all about what you see as of now. What do you see and what in particular sees you giving the love for Martin from day one. I am not alone, trust me on that. Most fans eshew thee site for reason that they will get crepe for them simply giving an opinion. Martin will not a monkeys give on what I nor others think;you need to reflect on that. PS....I detested Cooper too so any argument Im pining over a former manager is also blown out . This sees AC get shyte becaue he liked Cooper. I didn't but hey,AC and I have always been cordial so remember that next time you post. I always avoid insulting /abusing fellow posters out of hand-unless it's called for obviously. 3-0 to the Swans today. Piroe (2) Ncham (1)
