Russell’s brand of football stuns Coventry City 3rd Nov 2021 08:00
It wasn’t anything other than a midweek away trip for Swansea City, and let’s be honest it was more than likely going to end up in another away day defeat. However, Russell Martin had other ideas as the Swansea bandwagon rolled in to the CBS stadium last night and dictated the game throughout. 0

It’s another win for the swans, click above.

That wasn't really how I saw the game, Coventry did trouble us and the result was as much about hard work and desire as quality of football. Lets face it, there were several misplaced passes last night.

That's not to say it was anything but a great result, I just think that report is a bit one sided.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

Yea I totally agree.

It was a great defensive performance - if a bit frantic at times, I said during the game that Coventry were constantly 1 block / interception from being through on goal. Glad Bennett and Hamer were on form otherwise the result would have been far different.

As for the rest of the team, their midfield dominated ours and as such besides the first 15mins our forwards had nothing. They kept Laird very quiet after that period too.

But great result, more to do with defensive determination and desire than Martinball in my opinion.

Performances v Scum, Wba and Peterborough far better all round 'performances'.

In fairness Coventry are a far better side than Cardiff and Peterborough, so it distorts the performance a bit.

True WBA and last night are by far our best results. There are going to be bumps along the way, but I'm really enjoying this season. Bournemouth have not lost a game this season, you just wonder........

This was the comments made by Martin on the bbc match report last night

"It was two good teams going at it. I think we deserved the win. We started the game brilliantly and could have maybe scored more.

"We were disappointed to concede the goal we did and Coventry to be fair to them went really aggressive.

"I am so proud of the players. I really hope they take even more belief from this.

"We are a long way from being complete and there will be bumps in the road, but I really feel like we are on a journey and we are heading in the right direction. We just need to keep growing."

To be fair to some of the Cov fans they made some good comments about us and our performance, Boscombe is going to be a test, nail biting at times maybe. COYS .

Coventry played very well. they worked us hard. It's not that I'm criticisng the performance, just that report.
It wasn't as good a passing game as we have been treated too but it was good in a different way, hard work and determination.

No matter how well we are playing, it never hurts to have the determination, to be able to dig in and work hard when you're under pressure. I think it augurs well for the future that we can be pretty AND solid. Coventry got quite physical at times and we stood up to them.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?
