The losing of passion 22:12 - Dec 28 with 1099 viewsonehunglow

Frankly ,with covid hanging around and people still being silly I fear we will not ee the end of postponements and might see another lockdown.
My ma in law is in a home that was today placed in lockdown and we were not surprised;exactly the same reaction we have when our and other games are called off.

Playing now is a lottery as is planning to go to games. My trip to Hudds now very much in doubt and frankly, the passion is dripping away after many years.

Im sure some others feel the same way but wouldnt admit it publicly

We will IMO see the 6 Nations played behind closed venues at least in Wales .

When people stop going ,the feeling drifts away and unless the club is in truly exciting times the feeling of not being really bothered appears.

Hope not

I think by February 1st we will be wondering what all the fuss was about. Hopefully.

The passion never disappears. I hope.

Richard, with all due respect to you, you don’t go to any games anyway, covid or not.

I think more like May 2022. Omnicrom has displaced the more serious Delta but that does not mean a new strain could not occur from countries generally un vaccinated. It does appear the the virus is running out of gas.

I thought it was a worthy thread.
Whether one goes or not,the fact one is on here at all says it all.

My comments regrading passion must resonate when one looks in the mirror.

Lot of people will be doing it by January 1st.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

That’s a good line of thought, especially today with scientists stating the Omicron virus is weaker but more prevalent. They believe the next one could be even weaker. Fingers crossed.

The more people realise that getting themselves vaccinated the better, it clearly seems to be weakening the virus, there's always likely to be a twist in the tale though, so we must remain vigilant. I'm on my 9th day of isolation counting from the day I first had symptoms, just done a LFT and its negative, so going in the right direction.

Absolutely. Anyone vaccinated will have a far better chance of recovering quicker than the unvaxed.
Hope you can still taste the beer

I lost a lot of passion for football in general. I think Covid actually rekindled it a bit. Going back to the ground for the first time in ages felt good. It's much different being closed because of a pandemic to simply deciding not to go, the enforced absence definitely made me keener to get back to normality.

Generally speaking, younger people tend to be more passionate, don't they? Us fogeys have been there, seen it and done it.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?

Good point Cat
True enough

I still get very upset and angry at us losing or what I see to be bad management. The fact others disagree means jacksheet to me. Ive seen much more than most on here and am smarter than they think.I look in the glass as do they and that man is the only one we need to be at peace with.

I used to be massively into Speedway and eventually even drifted away from that, although there are sign of a resurgence although south Wales misses out on this .

The World Championship has been held in the Milstad and was a great showpiece.

I've had one beer since our last home game, that was a Christmas eve shandy. I think I'd prefer a good curry to a beer now.

Any decent curry tastes more rewarding after several beers and then followed by several more, a gallon before and after, its for the best trust me

Know a few people who have had the omicron strain now, it is just like a cold, nothing more to it.
Even un vaccinated you should still be ok, we have never shut the country down when people get colds in the past have we?

Myself and Fireboy will have a curry with you sometime. A gallon before and a gallon after sounds rather good.
