I would say the issue is unfortunately that they ARE listening.
That ball across the back when under pressure is clearly instruction rather than desire, it wasn’t too dissimilar to Naughton giving the ball away by making the risky (but pointless) inside pass when under pressure across the face of the pitch.
The slow passing, the reluctance to go long despite the press. It’s all clearly the game plan, a game plan that unfortunately shows time and time again that it doesn’t work, and has never shown to work under his management.
MK Dons are now 7th. Russell couldn’t get them in the top half playing that way, so I’m not entirely sure why people are convinced this style is effective when it has shown itself to be anything but, year on year. |  |

The play offs have long since sailed into the distance so wouldn’t worry too much about that - suspect the focus of this window will be the defence with new goalkeeper & two WBs needed following Laird’s recall.
With finances as they are I imagine we need to exit a few from the wage bill below doing too much, if Benda, Bidders & Williams (Rhys) we’re all to exit then that would free up the wages (plus Lairds) to cover the defence options with I guess Cooper to cover Williams.
Further forward Joseph back to cover Whitaker’s loan so we’ll need to see some of Dhanda, Fulton & Cullen to go before we add new options.

While Cabango will jot dance a fandango or out sprint Usain Bolt he adds stability, reliability (n the centre) but more importantly at present he adds authority. The man talk and directs players thought games the others have little communication.
That said, some of our play out from the back last night was PL class.
Last night, all things considered we were pretty damn decent.
Another Downes like player in central / attacking midfield, a tall centre forward to offer some alternative attack options and a left back are needed.
I would also look to replace players in January who are unlikely to renew contracts.
For what it is worth I,d also send Cullen, Cooper, Obafemi, Walsh, Smith out on loan. |  |

Disagree, don’t have the stats at hand as it doesn’t appear OPTA tracked the cup games from a quick look. But we very much forced the short pass yet again, once we got the ball out of the defence it was slow unimaginative and ponderous.

We were under pressure from three attacker at one stage and persisted in passing 1/2 yards.

Agree on your point re Cabango, but Cooper to go on loan? I thought he did well last night and Bennett should have been pulled. We need pace badly, either two wing banks , wingers ( if we are going to switch to that system ) or two pacey full backs. | | | |
