Not sure on the fee but questions why he wasn't given a fair crack here.... Golden opportunity missed looking at it.

Because he wasn't very good is the easy answer, and even makeshift strikers in Ayew and Lowe were more effective. Coventry gave him a crack last season too. He scored 3 in 19, not good enough to be a starting striker for a team pushing for Promotion. Fulham apparently are interested in having him on the bench as an attainable and affordable back up to Mitrovic.

If that is truly the case, then talk of £20 million for Piroe may be well wide of the mark. If Piroe is only worth a few million, then the club should do all they can to keep him

Would take transfer market as with a lot of things with a pinch of salt. Both Piroe and Gykores will be worth more than the value on there.

True, but my point is that he has scored 16 goals and has 5 assists this season.

Part of me hopes so, as part is hoping beyond hope we can hang onto our main three targets this window. Another part is resigned to losing at least two of them.

I think it's just as big a problem for us if we were to have another summer without a big sale. Being desperate for cash leads to some bad decisions (Dan James going for £5m/loan now pay later). Best case we get a £10m+ offer for one of our players early, and the pressure gets taken off all our other business. We were able to negotiate up from opening bids of £10m on DJ and Oli because both were in demand at the same time and we knew we'd get at least one vital sale out of it. It will be difficult to play hard ball with Piroe unless we know there is genuine interest in some of the others, rather than just pessimistic Swans fans convincing themselves that everyone they like is destined to leave.

Good points there. We are all I believe realistic enough to know that we need to balance the books. The sale of one of Piroe, Obafemi , Cabango or Downes would ( or should ) mean we can play hardball on the others and only sell if the offers are lucrative and leave enough to reinvest in good, young replacements. I also think that it is time to trust in some of the younger fringe players more. There are many examples where young players are given the opportunity and relish in it. If they are good enough they are old enough
