If she was speaking seriously then she's an idiot. To describe Wales as 'grey' is utterly stupid if you're taking her words literally. Wales is one of the most beautiful countries in the world.
To say the language is incomprehensible is also stupid. If she spoke Welsh then it wouldn't be incomprehensible. Because she'd actually understand it. Presumably she doesn't understand about another 150 world languages. So they are they all also incomprehensible ? Another idiotic thing to say.
And the people are gloomy ? I've just spent a fantastic afternoon in the Langland Brasserie surrounded by the most happy, smiling, ungloomy bunch of (mostly) Welsh people. And in general I find the vast majority of Welsh people the complete opposite of gloomy.
