The times I saw Whittaker play since Christmas he really didn't show much interest or effort when he didn't have the ball. At Plymouth he played behind the forward on the right, the position Piroe was taking up in games. Would I play him instead of Piroe no, would I play Piroe elsewhere no it is his most effective position. Whittaker will probably do OK in Scotland as I rate the league similar to league one in England where he did well. There are my thoughts after watching him live and streaming with Plymouth. | |

Exactly my thoughts. He couldn’t be bothered to make the runs he should have been doing, and didn’t get off the ground for headers.

Maybe he was appalling because he was constantly used as a wing back when he had no pace and cannot cross?
Maybe used at CB he would have been better? That's down to Martin.
Now Joseph, i thought he looked better in his brief appearances than Cullen did and cullen seems to have made a step up. Next season, if they were all here, I'd like to see a front three of Cullen, Joseph, Whittaker, at least in a friendly. it won't happen now though because at least one of them is leaving. | | | |

Development comes in many ways, from being at a club where he gets games and understanding different training methods, discipline, time keeping etc, to learning as a young man to carry that forwards.
Same applies to Whittaker, development through playing at a lower level and coming back to his parent club with the right attitude.
Fail and you leave, blossom and you move forwards.
Not everyone gets it.

Loans are all about developing a player, many of our players have gone out on loan and come back better for it. Playing every week is far better than a couple of minutes here and there, if at all. Please detail how he has not been treated well. | |
