Latibeaudiere - Too slow Fisher - Just not good enough Sorinola - Just not good enough Woods - Slow, first division defender Darling - probably best of the bunch, but is prone to a mistake, which is down to his manager telling him he’s playing for Real Madrid, not Swansea City. 90% of the time RM plays 3 at the back, with wingbacks. Problem with this is Woods looks cumbersome with the ball at his feet, Cabango is inconsistent, and Naughton has Father Time looking over his shoulder. Darling is the pick of the bunch for me, and should start every game in the centre of a 3, because Naughton has started to look a bit vulnerable, but has been a magnificent servant. As for our wingbacks. With Latibeaudier, again you have to question the manager’s sanity in constantly picking a player completely not suited for the role. Sorinola, what can I say, I’ve asked all my Swans related mates, and to a man they said “Can’t beat a man” too weak, not the greatest defender. One said “I think he’s ok” I must admit I’ve been amazed that we reached 4th in the league, and all the players mentioned have played a big part in that achievement. But why do I still get the feeling after a season and half of MARTINBALL, that I still ain’t convinced of “The Process “

I still think he's the best of a bad bunch at right wing back. Stevens can't be up to much if can't get ahead of current players.

| Sorinola (n/t) on 15:02 - Nov 6 with 1666 views | 7snowboards | I agree with everything, apart from Wood. To me he looks like a very good championship defender who would definitely work with the right players in a back 3, especially with a bit more pace but I think that is what we are lacking. I said that in one of my swans premier league books about Orlandi, it was more tongue in cheek, he wrote me the longest letter I’ve had in years. He was very upset. It proved to me you have to think at times. But I do think Sorinola would do well at Bristol Rovers 😉 | |

Prefer Wood and happy for him to play on the right side of Cabango and Darling (preferable at right back and in a back four with Manning on the left). Woods while he tries to play a bit too much very rarely when he makes a mistake does it lead to goal scoring opportunities and for he supposed slowness he often rectify and recovers his own mistakes. When we end up playing the four across the don't seem as vulnerable at the back but that might be cause and effect we concede teams defend the lead and don't press on so much. Would not look to sign Sorinola again would even be happy for parent club to ask for him back, I know another way he would return to his club but wouldn't want to befall any player. Latibeaudie is a bit of a problem he is our player not pacy enough not particularly good in the air, not a fullback or centreback but we still need him in a defensive capacity as we have no cover that Martin will use Naughton relieved of his defensive duties looks a quality above many on the pitch but is not the future. It is really time to let give more youth its head. Options Fin Stevens and Obgeta used as full back when cover is need because Lati and Sorinola cannot be relied upon in the team whoever plays in the 3 man defensive formation. Strengthen the defence (4 man setup) and wings (fOko-Flex and Congreve) and I think we have enough quality in the squad to cause teams problems.

What do you base the Stevens’ opinion on? I don’t trust Martin I’m sorry so how do we know who is best out if the two. Martin has a awful track record of leaving better players out. Ogbeta probably being another one.

| Sorinola on 19:01 - Nov 6 with 1482 views | jack247 | His crossing is good. I don’t know why he doesn’t take corners to be honest. He’s ok at cutting back onto his right foot and crossing them in. It’s all he can really do as he can’t go past players. Other that that, I can’t really see how he merits either starting or coming on every game. Very little physical presence and doesn’t have the pace or the skill to compensate for it. I’d understand it if we had a Llorente up front. | | | |

Are you talking of Sorinola I had previously thought he had signed for us but checked on one particular site that states he is on loan before I posted, perhaps I didn't make it clear I wanted his parent club to take him back before his loan period ended. Sorry for any confusion caused.

Ill watch carefully from now on as well, always seems to pass backwards for someone else to cross when I watch him. That said as you can probably tell I'm not a fan.

In a past game Congreve took a defender on beat him with skill drove on into the box and put the ball into the six yard box for Manning to score which type of cross do you prefer, even Cooper seem to get more joy at attacking defenders in the wide position and by the time Sorinola puts a cross in the defence tends to be comfortably set up to nullify any threat. Oko Flex drove a cross in from the right that couldn't be dealt with from which Cooper scored in a past game. I know which type of crosses I prefer. [Post edited 7 Nov 2022 12:42]
