| Australia .small footy nation on 18:00 - Nov 30 with 1140 views | Wingstandwood | I have read a lot of rather annoyed Welsh supporter opinion(s) and many seem to agree that there was a more than evident opposite Welsh mindset to theirs, where stuff like winning and being competitive was no longer deemed to be important. So what was the point of qualifying, getting on the plane and turning up? A case of many other supporters having zero ambition to progress, because it was a case of 'mission accomplished' apathy, thinking anything after qualification was just a bonus and that was even before the team had played its first game! A "just happy to be here cos its been 64 years" and might as well have loads of sing-songs whilst here, is some attitude to take. Surreal vibes and attitudes? If you aim for 100% you likely to get a little less, but if you do not aim for 100% you'll get a lot less! | |

Population of Cymru - 3.1m Population of Oz - 27m They have 9 times as many people as us. In terms of quality, they are not beating the USA or England any time soon. Be a close game with Cymru. Good sorts though, love beating England at any sport. 🦘🦘🇦🇺

Welsh TV news stated last night that there was a consensus of opinion that the team had sadly "underperformed"...... That, the results, and failure will go into the record books, whereas the supporters jolly trip abroad will become completely irrelevant.

You are another Welshman wallowing in self loathing. You lap up fake history written by English men. A defeated nation? I do not think so. A wealthy successful environmentally friendly self governing group. Kurds, Basques, Britons, Catalans looks on us green in envy. Wales team and fans performed very poorly in the WC 2022 with their stale limp performances limp manager and limper fans singing English racial slurs to themselves. Defining themselves by English slurs pathetic. [Post edited 1 Dec 2022 13:11]

I will give you a few examples .. BBC the state broadcaster referring to Cymru repeatedly as a Principality BBC the state broadcaster can deal with French place names but not welsh place names …. BBC referring to UK as a nation whereas England, Wales, Scotland, and Ireland are the nations. BBC pushing Britishness for every success and Wales/Scotland/Ireland when not so good. Pushing the made up Team GB bollox BBC normalising Cymru having an English born Prince of Wales, without the welsh government or welsh people being asked Johnsons muscular unionism wanted union jack flags on every public building in Cymru, the welsh dragon flag can be flown as well but must be lower … PM Truss did not even call Drakers or Comrade Nicola out of politeness The failure of British education to cover the bad stuff like the Indian and Irish famines, concentration camps in Africa, Mau mau in Kenya, Amritsar massacre etc The failure of British education to cover the systematic exploitation of Cymru by the British state Lots of fake history ….as the great James Connolly said …. "Yes, ruling by fooling, is a great British art with great Irish (read Welsh here) fools to practice on.” –James Connolly 1914 Happy to help ….

Wales and England joined at the hip whether some like it or not . Share the same land same democracy. Always found the Welsh Nats an odd bunch with a chip on their shoulder as wide as the Grand Canyon. Most normal Welsh people want to go to work, provide for their loved ones and have a decent standard of living. Which the UK has given us. Not perfect but what is? We've got an older geezer in the village always wears his blue rosette outside the community hall on voting day. A fluent Welsh speaker as is my cousin who is a member of the Welsh Conservatives. I'm pretty much apolitical and treat them all the same, with even contempt! The Nats seem to have this idea within their heads that we are oppressed and kept in our place...well what a load of gonads. If you have this negative attitude and believe it long enough. Guess what , you become that poor opressed person. I've done okay in a United Kingdom. Have family and friends from across the border. I do a lot of my business in Hereford, Worcestershire and surrounding areas. Loads of expat Welsh. None as bitter as some of the fcjers on this forum.

Also will add. I know quite a few Welsh people who have gone to work across the border. Sold up, moved back made a few bob on their houses and live in desirable areas of Swansea with money in the bank. Good luck to them. Had ambition. Yet if they had the parochialism of some , they could have stayed here and wallowed in self misery and bitterness.
