Yep, they signed another player over the weekend for 30 odd mill as well, unbelievable. Surely they need to sell to recoup some of their outgoings, I'd love to know what their total outlay has been this window with fees and wages for these players, seems a classic case of them trying to buy Championships and Cups. Hope the crash and burn, cause they are ruining the game.

| FFP on 00:14 - Feb 1 with 2300 views | Robbie | Caught a bit on the radio earlier of how , a club can spread the transfer fee over a period of time , subject to both parties accepting and agreeing , the up front deposit was key . So the mega money deal is not done in one season , it can be drip fed to the selling club . Agents , social media , hype , big egos and broadcasters are making , wow , transfer day lets all pause our daily routines to check on the next big deal , whoever he might be . | | | |

I think he spent £262m at Brighton. Last 5 years spending by manager, he almost outstrips Pep at Man City. 1. Pep £616m 2. Potter £585m 3. Klopp £430m

Breaking news … it’s not the coach that spends the money it is the owners !!
| FFP on 09:57 - Feb 4 with 2119 views | max936 | Chelsea spent 300million this January and drew 0-0 last night, I know nothings guaranteed in football but after spending all that money and still couldn't score. Long may it continue, 300 million on players plus the wages they've got to pay those players is morally obscene, especially at this moment in time | |

| FFP on 10:57 - Feb 4 with 2095 views | grabsplatter | Chelsea look an absolute basket case at the moment, a record transfer spend & a failure to get players out meaning they've got too many senior players. With all that money spent they don't have a centre forward they trust! The Ziyech farce makes it look even worse. For the good of football I hope they fail dismally. No issues with Potter, I wish him well but not at Chelsea. Brighton are a really well run club at the moment, spent plenty but they've sold big at the right time. | | | |

This owner they got seems to have a similar mentality to Forests owner in thinking that the more they spend the better the team will be, they want it all now, instead of steadily building the squad and growing. Potter is never gonna keep all these players happy, some massive ego's at Chelsea now without doubt, especially those who have been there some time and are now likely to miss out.

Forest had to spend a fair bit & bring in lots of players because of the situation they got themselves into with loans & contracts ending. The number of signings is mad though & there are plenty of stories out there about their owner, he's a bit of a loose cannon. Chelsea were starting from a completely different point, they had a quality squad to start with & they've spent an obscene amount. They have more wide players than they can use & only 1 striker who the manager doesn't trust & doesn't select!!
| FFP on 17:11 - Feb 4 with 2049 views | cockett_jack | So basically the crux of the BBC article is that creative accounting renders the rules meaningless for the big clubs/clubs with wealthy owners. Can’t they just adjust the rules accordingly or am I too naive. | | | |

I feel like I’m most other leagues or even sports such egregious rule breaking would bring dire consequences in either a point deduction or stripping of titles. They’ll probably just get fines though which would be so meaningless
