Now then, is anyone going to defend the biker or have a go at the police for this? These illegal bikers are a menace and we should all be helping the police get them off the road.

I’ll start. Bikes should be confiscated and the rider locked up.

Is right

I’d also confiscate drink drivers cars and those disqualified .

I agree with you, but the police won’t chase bikers because of the risk of injury. The Met have started to “take out” moped riders, but it’s very rare and there is a huge risk of injury.

99% of the comments are spot on. Hopefully some law enforcement types will take heed & get something done about it

I’ve been in that position.
Basically, when the wheel comes off ,nobody backs you up.
They will always say it’s not worth the risk of pursuing them,in which case they can do whatever they want .
It’s a problem

100% agree with you. It’s a problem we seem unwilling to tackle and has led to an epidemic of crime committed by scooter riders. The Met have stopped a few riders, but the risk of injury to the rider is high and the potential fall out from litigation etc is massive.

I don’t blame the police officers for not getting involved in motorcycle pursuits for the reasons you’ve highlighted.

It’s strict. There are many regulations regarding pursuit and it’s authorisation .
Once I deauthorised a pursuit as I believed it too dangerous as it was school collection time .
The officer driving continued to pursue only for a short distance and a RTC occurred. Not his fault but he was fizzed as a result .
