But are you really surprised ? 16th Jun 2023 07:15Yesterday afternoons news that Chris Davies won’t be taking up a post as Swansea City manager wasn’t a huge surprise to some. He has spent his career as a coach or number two and the job at Swansea City was clearly going to test his mettle, and to be honest it was always going to be too big a role for him to fulfil. And possibly Swansea City felt so as well ? 2 If you want to remove this post from the board index, just click the hide post icon below. My sort of thoughts too. We don't know what either party offered. He may just have gone for the best deal for him.

Got some evidence that the Swans didn’t fancy him one bit. As the report states. “The formal or informal nature of the discussions with Davies may well have left Swansea in a position where they couldn’t offer him the job due to his lack of experience. On experience Steve Cooper had not a lot of that when he came to Swansea. Whatever it was the two were not compatible.” If I was to hazard a guess the Swans spoke with him and didn’t like what they heard.

| No Chris Davies ! But are you really surprised ? on 09:28 - Jun 16 with 992 views | Whiterockin | I honestly don't blame him for choosing the job at Spurs, for me it won't just be about the money. Spurs are not only a Premier League club but have the potential to be a force in Europe as well, with their fantastic stadium and training facilities they are on another level to many other British clubs. The whole set up of a club this size dwarfs what we can offer, from working with world class players right down to the travel to away games by plane and staying in the best hotels. Then there is always the possibility of a large pay off if they mess up, no I'm not surprised. | | | |

That was mentioned but this isn’t as straight forward as people are making out.

| No Chris Davies ! But are you really surprised ? on 10:05 - Jun 16 with 876 views | whiterock | Chris was an analasist here, a damn good one by all accounts, but he was never a coach, he followed Brendan to Liverpool as an analasist only stepping up to a coaching role when Pascoe left. Number 2s don't always make good number 1's, the only one we've had in recent years is Paul Clement (from memory). | | | |

For saving us from hell
And then they put us through it

Carlos Carvalhal ? Ah no, he was just a different type of number two.
