Speaking to a Jack from Tiverton 21:06 - Aug 2 with 2031 viewsKeithHaynes

Regards last night.

Iwan Morgan was immense by all accounts, bagged two goals. Bullied their two centre backs who tried to kick him off the pitch, they just couldn’t deal with him. In their faces and totally committed. Glory Nzongo has so much pace ( he scored as well ) they are two who should feature next year come the summer. He was raving about Iwan, stated he just never gives up, has great positional sense and would keep Cullen out of the Swans side easily even now.

Can’t say how impressed my mate was.
His strength was incredible ( he says ) ok against a non league side, but they were grown men, and in some cases seasoned players.

Great future ahead of him..

If he's that good get him involved in the first team situation now. Plenty of 17 year olds have broken through to senior football in the past.

If he thinks he can get where he needs to be from here then we might even manage to agree a new contract with him.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

He seems to be able to make the step up naturally.

Possibly needs another year though ?

Fabregas was playing for Arsenal at 16. Giggs for Man Utd at 17. Milner for Leeds at 16. Pele played in a World Cup at 17.

Extreme examples for sure, but the general point remains that if you're good enough, you're old enough. If he's good enough then he won't need another year.

This!

Give him some time at the end if a game to ease him in then larger roles if he proves up to it.

Surely he needs to be tied down as soon as possible.

His reputation is growing fast, whether he will sign another contract is another matter

You give it out, you take it back it`s all part of the game

Nine players on the bench and five subs leaves plenty of room for an experiment or two. If it's a game we're winning easily then chuck him on. If it's a game we're dead and buried in then chuck him on as well, it might even be a better indicator of how well he'll perform.

I agree we should defo get him in if he’s good enough. But someone said he’s refusing to sign a pro deal with us or something?

A Cardiff lad isn’t he?

Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

Yes.
Didn’t like the way they were managing him so he joined the Swans.

The funniest thing about last nights game is my mate only saw the game advertised on a poster in his local shop window yesterday morning. I’ve had dialogue with the club. Not sure it’s been well received. But it was a two way conversation.

They're doing something very right and very wrong in Cardiff's academy to see Crew, Biancheri and Morgan all the same year group getting away from them. Dylan Lawlor looks a player as well but he's the only one left that age with serious potential.

You know far more about this than most Jasper, are Crew and Biancheri with us ?

Charlie Crew is at Leeds, Gabrielle Biancheri signed for Man Utd. Biancheri was about half a million compensation supposedly, pre-scholarship. A keeper went to Wolves the other day as well. That current Wales u17s class is the best we've seen in a very long time and most came through at Cardiff.

Robbie James made his debut for us just after his 16th birthday.

It’s very easy to say that they were different days but the adage already mentioned on here - if they’re good enough, they’re old enough - remains.

I would imagine Iwan knows these lads well, and it could cause him to become unsettled knowing where they are and where he is.

He and his agents will be well aware of the possibilities. Some youngsters are best served signing that pro deal asap, but for others bigger opportunities can arise should the door be left open. His stock has been rising steadily ever since he arrived.

Can't imagine it'll be cheap to poach him if the time comes. We've had practice with tribunals at least.

He was the same v Carmarthen.
A real shame the under 21 game v Caerau Ely clashes with the Birmingham game.

Jeremy Charles was the same age (16) as Robbie when he made his debut for us - coming on as a sub for Robbie.

Watched you tube video of him . He is 17 but has the physique of a grown man . Fast on the ball with excellent finish . Has played rugby and boxed so the physicality comment in the o.p makes sense . Reminds me of Duncan Edwards , he even looks like him .Put him in the squad .
