There is no free lunch. Football is highly competitive and Swansea have done very well over the last 20 years while balancing the books and improving the infrastructure. I do not buy the "we were promised this and that - next level". It is the language of stone cold losers.

People like HJ gave Swansea 15 year of success and fans still bad mouth the fellow for a fake narrative driven by the Trust who have been outed as serial time wasters.

All I can expect of Duff and the players ifs to graft hard and play a modern possession game but with teeth and resilience. It will take time for this philosophy to establish itself. From what he said some player are still playing Martin ball. This was drilled into them for 24 long months so that is not surprising.

Worst start for 30 years. Worse than Martins where we won after 4 or 5 games.

It’s much harder to condition players into something extreme like Martinball than condition them out of it when they’ve only played it for two seasons since they started as kids.

We aren’t playing a possession game.

But….this is the perfect game for him. Win tomorrow night and the momentum shifts dramatically.
