| Jason Levien : A warning for Michael Duff from the recent past on 15:01 - Oct 11 with 1692 views | Whiterockin | The amount if injuries we get does worry me, but surely the medical team/conditioning team must have an input and say when to back off. | | | |
| Jason Levien : A warning for Michael Duff from the recent past on 15:32 - Oct 11 with 1641 views | JACKMANANDBOY | That is interesting background Keith, from what I can recall we are on the worst run of injuries since Kenny Jackett's time when we had a constant stream of hamstring injuries. Under Martin we had very few, you can argue we spent a lot of time walking about! A long and hard season means looking after your playing assets and I wonder if there have been any changes in the medical team? The old saying two is a coincidence, three is a trend comes to mind and if the run of injuries continues then it's right to question what is happening and Levien's past approach seems appropriate for once. | |

The lads have been putting their all into it last few weeks. I forgive them for the cardiff game. I had a nightmare last night that I was locked in prison with the Swans on a tv. We were losing 5-0 woke up in a cold sweat!

If Nathan’s injury loses him money …

I would not be surprised to see him go in January, Darling looks much better now that he does not have to play risky passes at the back.

Both Dalling and Cabango are better in a four.
| Jason Levien : A warning for Michael Duff from the recent past on 20:27 - Oct 11 with 1339 views | Dr_Winston | I think the concerns about "overtraining" and the injuries that we were picking up would be more of an issue if it was just us experiencing them. As it stands, there are concerns at a hell of a lot of Premier League clubs and more than several in our division about the rate that players are picking up knocks. For me it's a symptom of the sheer amount of football that players are expected to play, especially those in the top two divisions who are often called up for International duty in various places as well. It's hard to remember a Summer when there was an actual proper break between seasons. This year was particularly bad thanks to the idiotic Qatar World Cup screwing the dates up. If it's not meaningless senior International games (like tonight) it's equally pointless tournaments at youth level like the u21 Euros this Summer which didn't end until mid-July. | |

I agree with you, partially. Surely with all these extra games the conditioning coaches should be taking it into account and not oushing the players so hard, specially 10 games into the season. Shouldn't training mid season be quite light? it's only a top up after all, unless the player has been out for a while and lost fitness.

Once you attain a level of fitness it's very easy to lose it if you don't put in the work to maintain the standards. I'd expect the club not to push as hard as perhaps they did in pre-season (and people much more qualified than me on the subject matter will be involved), but they won't want to risk losing the edge that we've clearly had late on in games recently. Games like tonight, against a "country" with a total population lower than Neath, are just a waste of effort for all involved. Better to just let the players have some decent recovery time. | Jason Levien : A warning for Michael Duff from the recent past on 19:10 - Oct 13 with 890 views | ReslovenSwan1 | Jason levien hs appointed Coleman and will consult with Coleman. He in my opinion would not over rule Coleman if they had opposing ideas. (eg Sacking a manager) Levien has acted on fan complaints - a) Investment of new cash. b) Leaders on the ground and with direct involvement. c) Transparency d) Engagement with fans. Coleman will decide Duff's long term future not Levien. Levien will back or sack Coleman. He will not over-rule him in my opinion. "You do not buy a dog and bark yourself".
