But as far as I'm concerned he makes no difference to me personally, I won't go down early to see him and won't buy his merchandise, nothing personal but he means nothing to me, but I am not the target market, I'm old and a supporter anyway.

In a PSR world, our owners can’t just lump money at the club. Getting global superstars on board enhances our profile which leads to increased spending in merchandise, match tickets etc and far better advertising deals. Or would people prefer us to be sponsored by M and P cycles with no one outside the UK knowing who we are again?

Strangely though as the article pointed out, many will turn up because of Snoops appearance. I am not one for glory hunting, and these fans who turn up on Tuesday (Small Amount) won't or most likely turn up on another mid week match etc. Very difficult one to assess. But sadly the world we live in success brings people. It's like winning the lottery. People suddenly become your friend and people turn up out of the blue (I imagine 😜). It's not a new thing and it is what it is. We would all like them to turn up when no celebs are there, but that's the world and we can't change it. So embrace it and hope with each little success it turns into more fans coming other time. I know from personal experience in both football and other hobbies, that all it took was something that clicked with me. And if 1 fan from one group suddenly adds Swansea as there new team alongside there Man Utd, who knows they might change allegiance eventually. I'm sure over time and years to come this can only benefit the club. Instant results on Tuesday is the objective with attendance, but long term success has to be the main goal with on and off the field in all areas. Rome wasn't built in a day. Wrexham might think it was, but it's not in Swansea and never has been. [Post edited 19 Feb 20:59]

The non release of season tickets yet is an interesting ploy. I wonder the reasoning behind it and how it will pan out. Many need to budget for this purchase and restricting the time scale won't help. I'm all for generating new fans but don't alienate existing supporters.

Totally it's a balance. The club in recent times hadn't helped it self with its communication with fans. You would like to think when and if the club grows then there customer service and overall approach to fans improves. It should be better now, but it's not look at the way they acted with the ticket issues to well my usual complaint of Swans TV. If they don't improve then a larger magnifying glass will be on them when more eyes and people see the product and it won't help there cause. | | | | Login to get fewer ads
| Indy feature : Snoop Dogg inspires the future of Swansea City on 23:07 - Feb 19 with 256 views | ReslovenSwan1 | As I understand it Snoop is an American icon as an early entrant ina black music genre. Rap or hip hop or whatever it is called. His music is not memorable by his persona resonates with Black Americans. It get the feeling he is a US version of Ossie Osborne .with a bemused view of the modern technical world with it's gadget obsession. I think he may represent living proof that folk can survive decades of using maruana to excess. A bit like the persona Alan Brazil has with alcohol and an attached grudging respect from followers. Perhaps reassuring for more casual users. His massive wealth and huge pay days would be souce of pride to the social groups he come from. Dafydd Iwan might be a Welsh version a of a long time grafter finally getting long over do fame and respect . He seems decent sort bloke with good relations with other good people. If you find a celebrity gold seam keep mining. Perhaps I have no idea about this? Just my thoughts. [Post edited 19 Feb 23:10]
