| Owners plans for the Club 12:07 - Mar 20 with 1590 views | johnlangy | We know that the owners have stated that they want to take the Club back to the PL. They are all very successful businessmen/women and will have a plan to achieve that. That plan will involve investing in the team over the next couple of seasons with the aim of promotion. They have also said that they are in talks with the Council to buy and expand the stadium. Correct me if i'm wrong there. I know many of us have mentioned expansion but I can't remember them saying it. They probably have. There may well be other areas they are looking at but the two big spending areas are in the team and the stadium. They are severely constrained regarding investment in the team due to PSR rules but as far as I understand it they can invest whatever amount they want in the Club's infrastructure. With all the plans they are talking about for Swansea generally i'd imagine the Council, who are also doing as much as they can with pushing forward developments in Swansea, will be very keen to work with the owners. Bearing that in mind I think buying the stadium will happen this close season. And it will be much easier expanding while we're where we are when ST holders can, like Whiterockin suggests in another thread, be moved to other parts of the stadium while building work is going on. There has to be some reason for the delay in announcing ST info for next season. Maybe this is it. | | | | |

Everyone has an opinion of what "the project" exactly is but nobody really knows outside of the clubs hierarchy.

I spoke to Tom at the stadium last month and he confirmed that talks are ongoing with the council. Maybe we'll get a new council leadership in May and that will help. Otherwise, it'll be a long drawn out process!

They’ve been ongoing for a while now, we do have some information that if you want we can talk about privately but generally it should be publicly disclosed at this point. Drop me a DM.

Definitely more about the obstruction that the council continually put up regards sponsors, money etc. plus there a lot to be said about naming rights which are in the hands of Martin Morgan for some years to come.

6 years left on the stadium naming rights which I understand can be bought out. The council get 10% of the stadium naming rights on top of the rent for the remainder of the 37 years. It makes absolutely no sense to buy out the MM contract until the club own the stadium because they will only get 90% of the contract plus they would have had to buy out the current deal. The value of projected income I believe is the current stumbling block to the stadium purchase. Keith you may well have different information.
